Interstellar - Part 6

It does. I've seen a couple of regular Hollywood movies on a Dome IMAX and wouldn't recommend it. Granted, I don't think I've seen one that was SHOT for IMAX on the Dome, but I also don't think the different frame size would change my opinion on it.

The last Dome IMAX thing I watched was a first person perspective fly through of the Grand Canyon and other amazing locations. Let me just say Ho...ly...****! That was something else. There was a point where the camera runs towards the cliff and dives head first over the edge. Bout lost my lunch on that one, but it was really cool. That kind of stuff is fantastic on a Dome cause your surrounded and it really makes you feel the motion.

But I really don't understand why they bother with Hollywood movies.

29 days left.

"29 days until the movie. Let's all get there in one piece."

I'm glad I have a real IMAX but problem is it's an hour drive to get there.

Interesting that he says that he's taking a break from movies for a bit seeing as he is scoring BvS. Then again I'm sure he doesn't have to start working on that until mid to late 2015.

From Harper Bazaar:

In Interstellar, out this month, Hathaway plays an astronaut who ventures into space alongside Matthew McConaughey to save an endangered Earth. "She's very serious, very prickly," she says. Very non-Hathaway, and, at the time, very necessary. "I watched my first scene the other day and I was like, 'Oh, my God! Chris, I'm such a *****!' And he said [she puts on a droll British accent], 'Yeah, but you grow quite fond of her.' "

The shoot entailed several weeks in Iceland, with Hathaway spending most of her days in a 40-pound space suit. That's where she bid veganism adieu. "I just didn't feel good or healthy," she says, "not strong." Cut to a Reykjavík restaurant and an adventurous costar who said that they should try everything: She caved with a fresh piece of fish—"from a stream I could see from where I was sitting." The next day she "just felt better." So now, when she needs chicken soup for the soul, she'll have chicken soup.

Yeah, there's a nice museum in ATL with a dome IMAX, and I went there on a field trip when I was 12-13 years old. We watched this crazy Earth and Space doc, and some parts of it really freaked me out, cause it felt like I was there.

Chastain:
"Prepare yourself. It’s… epic. I saw it a while ago with Anne Hathaway, and when the lights came up, and Annie was crying and I was crying…I think it’s pretty special. It’s so beyond a science-fiction movie to me. It goes way deeper than that, in ways that 2001: A Space Odyssey goes beyond science fiction... There’s this thing of, what happens to people when they die? Are they still with you? I think this is a really important film, shockingly so."

Chastain sounded hyped. But she is still biased, having worked for the film and and all. I am more excited by reactions from Wright and PTA.

I don't think that's confirmed. But as you say, he's got time for a break.

I don't think that's confirmed. But as you say, he's got time for a break.

Zimmer confirmed it back in April:

In an interview with Digital Spy, Zimmer said that he’ll be heading to Detroit to hang out with Zack Snyder on set of Batman vs. Superman to work on some music for the new movie.

“We’ve already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas,” Zimmer explained.

Zimmer just wrapped up work on the score for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and is now focusing on Christopher Nolan’s new movie Interstellar. Speaking of Nolan, here’s what Zimmer had to say about not wanting to “betray” the Dark Knight Trilogy as he begins working on a new Batman theme:

"That’s my problem, that’s my dilemma. I don’t want to betray, if that’s the right word, the Dark Knight movies. That was Christian, it was Christian’s role.

It’s not just that it was nine years of our lives, so you want to stay honest and honorable to that period. So it’s really about, ‘Is there something else I can find that I haven’t tapped into?’ Which I don’t know until I sit down with Zack."

Dr. has a point though. Zimmer is still saying maybe in that article if you read the whole thing.

Maybe he already sat down with Snyder and decided to pass on it thus his comment in the latest interview.

Anyway I'll save that for the BvS thread instead of Interstellar. Very interesting though.

Good insight here from Chastain as to how the cast have reacted to this movie. Seems like I'll be requiring a seatbelt and a box of tissues. :oldrazz:

From IMDb:
"Interstellar" is the first film ever to star no less than five Academy Award Winners (Oscars). Those are Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Ellen Burstyn and Matt Damon.
