But anyways, I really want to hear what Zimmer has cooked up for the score.

I'm reading all the backlash from the critics who gave it a rotten score.

Biggest plot hole in TDKR for me was Bruce just....getting back into Gotham. Even when I first saw the film that stuck out like a sore thumb to me and my buddy.

That´s as much of a plot hole as anything else Batman does in his movies. Why is it so difficult for people to swallow the idea that Bruce could find a way back into Gotham, but have no problem with him being able to do pretty much everything else? It´s Batman. Nothing is logic about Batman, like nothing is logic about Spider-Man or Iron Man.

It's not going to get as bad as it was for TDKR though. People went straight off the rails that time.

Heh, yeah, that was pretty funny. :hehe:

I'm not going to read an actual review until I watch the movie, but it seems it's getting pretty good scores.

This is Nolan we are talking about. All the great feats Bruce is able to pull off in these Batman films are explained in great detail. When Bruce first leaves Gotham to train in BB; we see him escape on the ship leaving Gotham. My guess is Nolan had this scene nixed because of IMAX time constraints:

Had this stayed in the film, problem solved.

To be fair...the burning symbol was meant to give Gotham hope/defiantly announce his arrival in order to bait the LOS into a war. Wasn't just for kicks. But still an awesome moment even if you strip away the logic, goosebumps everytime. The fire rises. :yay:

Wouldn't this have been a better moment for Bale Bats to restore the Bat-Signal?

It would have robbed Gordon of his moment at the end, but I'm sure they could have come up with a nice substitute.

It was so bizarre when I first read about the death threats. I felt ashamed to be a Batman fan for a moment.

Yeah, it's still too early to tell how good or bad it's going to do with critics, but It's shocking that it's sitting at around 69% right now.

Oh wow, I never thought about that. That actually would have been even better. Then again, people would have still complained about him fixing a broken bat-signal and wasting time, lol.

Were you expecting higher? I think I was expecting around 70-85%. And it can still get there. There's not that many reviews up for it. It's only at 26, wait until it gets to around 100+.

No. Most great feats are actually not explained in great detail. Only a few of them. We didn´t see him traveling the world. How did he traveled the world and survived with no money and no resources? Keep in time that, that Bruce, was even less knowledgeable than the Bruce in The Dark Knight Rises. How did he learned so much about so many different things in such a short period of time? We only saw him training Martial Arts in an old temple. That´s not explaining everything in great detail.

I didn't expect it to plummet so low this early, lol. I said in this discussion earlier that it wouldn't go below 90% but I was only half serious. I do expect it to finally sit somewhere between 83%-90% though.

This movie was always going to be divisive. Some will love it, others will find it fails to reach its lofty ambitions.

I expected something like 75% of critics to like it, and I think the current number will rise with more reviews. Regardless, it doesn't really affect my anticipation.

I actually have more problem with The Prestige's third act than TDK or Inception.

The Prestige relies on a cheat that inserts a sci-fi twist as a deux ex machina.

Not sure how the twist was a deux ex machina when

Angier was obsessed with most of the movie with finding out how Borden performed The Transported Man trick and funded and pressured Tesla to create him a similar machine he assumed Telsa created for Borden, which is revealed at the end that Tesla didn't build for Borden but did for Angier.

The twist was by design. The whole movie is designed as a magic trick. Nolan opened the movie with a shot of the duplicate hats created by said machine. The machine appears throughout the movie. And then at the end Nolan shows the shot of the hats again with Michael Caine's voiceover "But you won't find it because of course, you're not really looking".

You serious? It might have been Imax constraints. But he showed you in Begins how he can infiltrate and escape situations. So why does he have to show it here? Nolan left it to the imagination because he already explained how Bruce can do these things. It's not a plot hole if you can explain it or use your imagination easily to come up with an answer.

People are telling me that there are crazy amounts of great reviews coming, and RT just haven't updated it yet. I was expecting 80s to 90s since ive read almost hundreds of fantastic reactions, and a dozen or so reviews praising the film. My guess now, is that it will settle in the 80s on Rotten Tomatoes.

Nolan often doesn´t give you the answer for everything. It´s part of his style.

Me too. I might resist the urge to listen to samples this time and just go into the film cold turkey.

You'll have to as I believe none of it is being released until 2 weeks after it's out.

Did we really need a 5-10 minute exposition of Bruce traveling on a boat or plane? I'm glad that wasn't in the film. My only beef was Batman just standing there while Talia told her back story. Punch the **** out of her!

He has a knife in his stomach, twisting. AND he's having a conversation with her because he wants to know the real story. Which makes me think of another criticism that i hate. When fans say Bruce should have known ahead of time. Honestly, if there's anybody who should be able to fool Batman in that universe, it should be a member of the Al Ghul family. Not only that, i hate when my heroes are untouchable physically and mentally. I dont care if Bruce is supposed to be the "world's greatest detective"..i dont want him to be able to figure out everything and solve every problem before it even happens. Not on film anyway. You have to leave something here and there for Batman to fail at.

She had a knife between his ribs and Bane had a rope around his neck. There wasn't much he could do. :hehe:

The dude had a knife in his ribs and the ***** was twisting it.

Plus nobody wanted 5-10 minute? 1 shot. 1 shot of Bruce walking on ice, bam, done. An early draft "apparently" had Bruce actually showing up in merc gear as if he took one out and disguised himself to get in which would have shown it without a word.

This is why Nolan shouldn´t have directed the Batman trilogy. I feel most comic book fans aren´t really the kind of audience his talent should be directed to.

My first reaction to being stabbed would be to get the damn knife out of me, and punching who ever did it. But I understand...Batman isn't as badass.
