Interstellar - Part 7

Bruce just didnt want to have a perforated lung. Tho one does have to admit, Talia was about to detonate a nuke and Bruce had no way of knowing whether Gordon had successfully blocked the signal. So if its between punching the ***** out and getting a perforated lung or allowing her to detonate the bomb...well, the goddamn Batman would have punched the ***** out, jammed the knife in to the hilt to seal off the hole in his lungs, and then ripped Bane's personal fast-food intercom off his face and beat him into a comma with it. Then he would have taken Catwoman back to Wayne Manor and showed her his grappling gun.

What Batman? Batman gets beaten up and controled plenty of times in comic books.

You'll have to as I believe none of it is being released until 2 weeks after it's out.
From comingsoon.net's review:
Anyone who thinks they know what Nolan's other frequent collaborator Hans Zimmer is capable of should be pleased with what he brings to "Interstellar" which contributes to its unique sonic identity as well as drawing out the most emotion possible in the more dramatic moments. There are times when Zimmer uses an enormously bombastic pipe organ to drive the tension and emotions and other times, he uses a more subtle approach. Still, it's a fantastic score, easily one of Zimmer's best, and it helps to elevate Nolan's magnum opus well beyond where it might have been.
Can't wait to hear it. Hans rarely let me down, if ever. :applaud

Batman still a topic of discussion in this thread?

There's only 5 Cream of the Crop reviews so far. 4 positive; 1 negative. 8.8 average.

I try not to even check RT until a film is officially released to the public. Thats when the reviews really start pouring in.

Biggest plot hole in TDKR for me was Bruce just....getting back into Gotham. Even when I first saw the film that stuck out like a sore thumb to me and my buddy.

He borrowed Bruce Banner's motorcycle, obviously.

I would say it did. When it was revealed his real name is Robin, it made the audience realize that it was truly Batman's sidekick all along. Before that, you just thought he was some hot head cop who feels things in his bones and stuff. Anytime something unexpected happens that causes someone to reevaluate their opinion on a character, that constitutes a twist. That's the very definition of the word.

There are many different styles and methods for using and developing a twist. Not all of them are going to be as broad and outrages as something like Darth Vader in Star Wars. Some of them can be very subtle, like finding out that we don't really know the name of the protagonist in Layer Cake. There's an actual term for this, but I can't remember it or find it.

And are you guys trying to say TDKR is void of plot holes, now?

This isn't a TDKR thread I know, but this is the main problem with the whole Robin thing. Its a reveal that means absolutely nothing within the story itself , for the characters.

Anne's wardrobe has been excellent for these premieres. She slayed with that chain mail dress, going into battle. :hehe:

Positive :D
With Interstellar, Nolan’s reach occasionally exceeds his grasp. That’s fine: These days, few other filmmakers dare reach so high to stretch our minds so wide. And our senses, all of them. At times, dispensing with Hans Zimmer’s pounding organ score, Nolan shows a panorama of the spacecraft in the heavens — to the music of utter silence. At these moments, viewers can hear their hearts beating to the sound of awe. -Time Magazine Review

I've seen the word "dumb" used in more than one negative review.

*Nolan brings in renowned theoretical physicist Kip Thorne to consult and executive produce*

"Man, this movie is duuuuuumb." :ninja:

Well the physics in the film may not be dumb, but that doesnt mean that the characters or plot and writing arent dumb. Really, no one should go into this film thinking that because a renowned physicist worked on the film that it will be free of problems. Thats just setting yourself up for potential disappointments.

Me, personally, I expect a film with credible science and a script that I probably shouldnt examine too closely.

I know. My focus was on the one review that labeled the movie a "science report." He then followed it up with "At least Armageddon was fun!"

Oh. Yeah that guy sounds like a tool. Definitely not a person that this film was aimed at. He can keep his Armageddon. Redneck Oil Drillers go 'Murica on an Asteroid's Ass sounds more his speed.:funny:

Just got done watching an hour long doc called The Science of Interstellar, on the Sci channel. Pretty standard stuff, if you've seen the countless of other space docs out there. It was narrated by McConaughey, and it had some behind the scenes footage of Interstellar. Lots of shots with Nolan and his little monitor attached to his neck, telling the actors what to do. Kip Thorne was on it a lot, too.
