I mean this guy did it with basically no budget and it looks fairly convincing. How hard would it be for Marvel to do it?

The resolution is fairly low there, but I do agree it's doable. I had suggested not having it lit up at night (just to prevent it from being a bit too jarring), but that's the only change I'd make. I honestly would like them to hire this guy as a contractor where they'd pay him a set price in time for a Defenders box set to add it in (giving him high-quality footage to do it).

I know the characters are very different, but the trailer for this just looked like Arrow... Still, i've loved all the Netflix series and i'm sure i'll enjoy this. I just hope they emphasize the mystical elements that can set Fist apart from Arrow.

Arrow changed it's origin story from the comics. IF follows his pretty closely. There shouldn't be any comparisons. Iron Fist is doing nothing wrong.

HENWICK: For me, when they approached me about Colleen, I was a little bit like, huh, do I want to play an Asian woman who does martial arts who’s a love interest? Do I want to do those three things?

HENWICK: Working with Rosario and creating the Colleen/Claire dynamic has been one of my favorite experiences working with any actor or actress. Being able to show audiences that, two women who support each other, and there’s no competition, I’m her sensei, I’m her teacher, but I’m also –

JONES: A sister.

HENWICK: I’m also like a sister to her.

So not only are they making Colleen his love interest instead of Misty, but they're essentially taking Misty and Colleen's dynamic and using Claire instead.

What does this mean for Danny and Misty in the future? Is it now almost completely impossible? Or might they pair up in the Defenders?

Henwick seems to be changing her story around. The way she told it before, she was the one who pursued the role of Colleen Wing and was eager to nab the role.

What? I really wanted Danny and Misty to become an item. Same with Luke and Jessica.

I would too, though I'd prefer a slow burn. I think if Luke and Jessica end up together it would pretty much mean the end of they're individual series. Doing the family thing might be a nice finale for them.

Not sure why anyone would think they are completely impossible? We've already seen that two characters sharing a romantic/sexual connection doesn't mean they'll end up together. I suspect that whatever happens between Colleen/Danny, they'll end the first season as friends. Lets keep in mind too, that despite all the mixing and matching with couples, the Netflix shows have explored all the canon relationships (Luke/Jessica, Matt/Elektra, Matt/Karen, Luke/Claire). I see no reason why the writers would just skip over Misty/Danny.

I don't want Colleen/Danny to be a long-term item either.

So I just read an Iron Fist "preview" from Digital Trends. The article mentions that an official review will be published on March 8, which is interesting since I saw someone else say that's the date the embargo lifts. I'm a little confused though because the author of this piece does go into some of the things we will see in the first 6 episodes. What kind of embargo is this, exactly? :oldrazz: http://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/iron-fist-netflix-prep-guide/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Also, here's an interview where Finn talks about Danny and the dynamic between Luke/Danny. There are a couple more interviews with the cast on the sidebar as well. http://www.ign.com/videos/2017/02/24/the-defenders-finn-jones-on-iron-fists-dynamic-with-luke-cage

Don't care for items.

I don't care about ships either. The only comic relationship i care about is pete and MJ. The others can be adapted or not, i couldn't care less. Anyway Marvel fo the most part doesn;t get romance get in the way of the story as the CW shows constantly do so i'm not worrying.

I don't either and didn't think it was a big thing. Even so they probably wait for relationships to actually build instead of throwing them together. Misty is not even in this show so why would he be with her? Danny was stranded away from home for years, he likely will be hooking up with any woman.

The Marvel Netflix shows are filmed and released at one, so that means the annoying shipper obsessed people have no influence. CW on the other hand loves that and caters to it. Ends of ruining the story they need to tell.

I think regardless of the format, romantic pairings are still a big part of the Netflix shows. I mean, Luke/Jessica, Luke/Claire and Matt/Elektra were all heavily featured pairings. The writers know that romantic relationships have their place on the show and of course they are a big deal to a lot of viewers. I certainly enjoy them and I guess that makes me a "shipper" but I don't consider that a bad thing. :cwink:

Getting so hyped, the recent featurette gave me chills - way more then the trailers did. I really believe they may have pulled this off and delivered something that rivals DD for me!

The featurette is awesome. I still love the trailer but honestly, the only trailers that have really wowed me are the final trailers for LC and DD S2. I'm looking forward to the final IF trailer and the opening theme/title sequence. I'll be shocked if Trevor Morris hasn't created something on par with the DD theme or even better.

I know a lot of people (myself included) see Danny and Misty as one of the classic comic pairings. I rank it up there with Ollie and Dinah, Lois and Clark, Pete and MJ - but if you go back and read the really early appearances for Iron Fist (Marvel Premier to early Iron Fist v1 issues), there's a strong (well, as strong as comic writing from the mid-to-late seventies can be, with regards to relationships) attraction between Colleen and Danny.

That Changes in the early issues of IF, when there's a plot device situation which, arguably, makes their connections stronger. But also changes it.

Also, Danny and Misty did not get along all that well when they first met. He was an arrogant (yet strangely self conscious), humorless ass who literally abandoned his adopted home so he could seek revenge on the man who was responsible for the death of his parents.

Only to punk out at the last minute when faced with a cripple. And yes, the 'punk out' bit was said sarcastically. it was Danny's first, defining heroic moment.

Misty was an Ex-Cop turned bionically enhanced private detective who pretty much thought Danny was an arrogant, humorless ass. She didn't really know about the self-conscious part.

With Misty still being a cop at the end of LC, I imagine they're having to change the pairing and dynamic on several levels. She and Colleen, for example.

I don't recall how many episodes Simone is supposed to be in IF (if at all, someone correct me on this, please) - but I can see an episode or two going a long way to establishing a strong dynamic. It's easy to say that she and Colleen know one another, but the partnership hasn't start, etc.
