Is it just me or is the tide of opinion turning on this movie?

Dragonball Evolution is better than than any Uwe Boll movie, and that is uncontrovertible

The trailer still looks like something Uwe Boll would make.

nah... you tend too over exaggerate things... but whatever

I just don't know where all this positive buzz and feedback.

People aren't jazzed for this movie. It will come and go.

The Japanese laughed at it.

they are pretty mixed reactions the same with any other movie, some like what they see some don't it's that simple

You're trying to justify your own opinion with everyone else

when you say The Japanese do you mean just Japanese geeks from forums and conventions or every Japanese in Japan

dude, if the Japanese fans that love Hollywood movies are laughing at this ****, do you really think it makes much of a difference?

I just don't know where all this POSITIVE BUZZ is coming from.

I bet you Fox doesn't even buy a super bowl ad because they don't want to waste the money.

I don't see any so-called "positive buzz" for this movie either. And Fox's lack of marketing kinda validates what their confidence for the movie is.

Like I said, the buzz is restricted to some DB message boards and that's it.

I hope this doesn't turn into a TIH situation where a decent flick was undermined by its lack of marketing.

Actually, his opinion is the opinion of the masses... So you should try justifying YOUR opinion :P

I only know a few Dragonball Z fans in the real world. And they... weren't too excited then, and aren't too excited now. They hadn't even heard about it until I showed them posters online.

Agreed. This will be similar to that new Street Fighter movie.

The general moviegoing public doesn't know about this movie at all.

Fox didn't put the trailer with any of the big holiday releases.

They aren't advertising the movie at all.

The movie comes out in less than 3 months. No TV spots, no billboards, no nothing. All I see is chatter about it on the internet and most of it about the movie is NEGATIVE.

People can quote me figures on Dragon Ball getting the most hits on google or whatever, but that's usually for the anime or manga. People don't really know or care about this movie.

^ what that guy said...

This movie doesn't have enough public awareness to have any significant 'positive buzz.' Which is a good thing if that's what it's after, any more public awareness and positive buzz would be the last thing it would be receiving, assuming people cared enough to form an opinion at all.

Well, the trailer is out now and it'll be attached to various films. We have posters that were released last month and have been showing up in theaters.

It's still too early for TV spots, though. :/

So the trailer will be attached to Hotel Dogs (or whatever), Paul Blart, and most likely Street Fighter: Chun Li. I think Paul Blart was a great idea as I see that movie doing very well in theaters.

It'll probably play with Taken later this month as well.

You guys don't get it. This January/February release period is generally a dumping ground for movies.

Yeah Paul Blart is going to make tons and tons of money. And so is Taken for that matter.

Also that's not enough for a huge release for a spring tentpole that comes out in less than 3 months.

Well its been confirmed Watchmen is sticking with the original relase date so a DB trailer with that would be good.

Besides the title Dragonball will be enough.

This is a case of if we believe it then it might come true, this film still looks horrible and yes it will suck.

is that the consensus?

I take it whatever you say is the final verdict eh? :cwink:

Possibly. But they've waited too long to actually get the ball rolling on sustained marketing and promotion.

Also Star Wars Clone Wars. People thought STAR WARS was enough for that to make a ton of money. Got beat by Tropic Thunder. Booyah.

Clone Wars got terrible reviews and only made $30 million. The Star Wars faithful were predicting huge BO returns and all the kids going out to see it 12 times.
