Is it just me or is the tide of opinion turning on this movie?

despite many critics being overly critical, there are a few critics and sites that are fairly dependable. at any rate, i find it ironic that you make fun of him for listening to other people's opinions, then you give him yours (to go see it) as if he should listen to you as well.

I said see it for himself and judge. See any movie for yourself and judge it yourself not just DB.

Its from Brazil, some guy video taped the trailer and said people in the theater loved it, except for 1 person, but the rest loved it. The same thing is happening in many countries. Even here in Venezuela, I showed the trailer to my gf and many other people who dont care about Dragonball, and they liked it and are interested in watching the movie.

That's nice. What's your point? I showed the trailer to many people and they laughed at it. The same thing didn't happen in "many countries" because you weren't there for one. Unless you can provide a link that says otherwise, don't make **** up please.

it sounded like one person was talking throughout the video. i didn't hear any hollering in excitement or anything. it just sounded like someone talking consistently throughout the video....almost as if he weren't paying attention to the trailer.

Even here in Venezuela, I showed the trailer to my gf and many other people who dont care about Dragonball, and they liked it and are interested in watching the movie.

i showed the trailer to my family, my friends, and my co-workers.....none of them said that it would bring them to the theaters. only a few said they'd rent it....and guess what, they were disappointed DB fans.

I don't really care to be honest. No one is forcing you to read our posts. There's an ignore feature for a reason. Why do we have no credibility? We don't always bash the movie either. in a way you should, because we're being given a movie that doesn't reach our standards. in another way you shouldn't feel bad for us, because we have higher standards. we don't just unquestionable like everything that's thrown our way like mindless sheep.

There are things I dont like either. Like for example, Krillin not being in the film. Or the fact that there is no Red Ribbon Army. So im not a mindless sheep who likes everything. Hell when I saw the first picture of Piccolo many months ago I hated it, you know the one that was shown in the expo footage. But then I realized that was unfinished.

My point is, enjoy the movie, stop asking for too much with just Dragonball. Now when DBZ comes, you should demand a higher quality movie, effects wise, storywise, fighting wise, etc. There ill have higher standards because in DBZ is where the story gets more deep, intense, interesting and epic. This first movie is a way to introduce what Dragonball is all about. The sequels is where the real stuff begins. Im not saying I have low standards for this movie, because still this movie looks good, but im not demanding TOO MUCH like I would with a DBZ movie with Vegeta, the Saiyans, etc.

In conclusion, this movie looks good and will be a hit.

lol that wasnt my advice. Dragonball might have been rushed a little bit, but thats not the point. The movie looks good and interesting. Piccolo character according to the script is really awesome. I think James Masters is going to make a great performance in this one.

This is the beginning and the introduction, you are expecting a DBZ-type of movie and this isnt DBZ, this is Dragonball. Thats the problem with most people in the USA, they only knew DBZ, so they are expecting Super Saiyans and Vegeta and Frieza and Cell already, they are expecting DBZ fights in mid air, super speed, etc. That didnt happen on DB, and this movie is based on DB.
