The Dark Knight Is Robin Williams in the running for Joker?

In X-3 they made Ian and Stewart look 20 years younger in the opening scene or something, he is saying they could do that with williams which I think its a big no no

They will probably go with a younger actor, Bettany or Hulme, or even Eccleston, because that seems to be the name of the game in this franchise.

Williams is actually my pick for the Joker, because I see the Joker as someone who can be funny and laughable, but at the same is insane, dark and twisted. And Williams has proven he can do that. He's wild and funny at some times and dark and creepy the next (at least in his films).

Bettany is an extremely funny person in real life (as shown by his interviews on Jay Leno, Conan, etc.) and has sinister baddie nailed.

Sheesh we don't need 50 plus year olds playing year one Joker. They already did that in Batman 89 its time to go for a whole new direction.

you're friend is wrong . . . despite the fact that Williams and Nolan are buddies, having worked together, he'll never get this role . . . cuz Hulme is getting it . . .

Williams certainly doesn't look to be getting the role Joker in Nolan's franchise, despite his interest in it. Perhaps if he DOES want to be apart of future films, he'd be one of the ideal choices for The Ventriloquist.

Larry David to me from "Curb Your Enthusiasm" would be a more ideal choice.

Larry David?!? The real-life George Costanza?

Can you cast on something other than looks? Do the words "acting talent" mean nothing to you?

It doesn't matter what his "acting talent" is The Ventriloquist is pretty much controlled by Scarface. The Ventriloquist is Scarface's *****. Whoever played Scarface would be doing the talking.

There is more to acting than simply speaking.

Look, I don't care if you don't like my decision or not, but I think Larry David looks like him and I'm sticking with him.

I mean I rather have someone who looks and fits the character than someone who does not (like the casting in the "Dallas" movie going on.)

But looks really aren't as big a deal as acting ability. Hence the reason why Jack Nicholson was a good Joker in B'89 despite not looking even remotely like the Joker. Or why Joaquin Phoenix was perfect as Johnny Cash despite not looking too much like him most of the time.

Also, why Michael Caine is a brilliant choice for Alfred despite not having black hair or a pencil-thin moustache.

Sure, Larry David looks like the Ventriloquist. But he's the guy George Costanza is based on. If he was an actor, he could have just played himself in "Seinfeld" instead of Jason Alexander.

Sure, Larry David could stand there and hold a ventriloquist dummy that's dressed up like Al Capone. But can he convey abject terror of the wooden thing in his arms? Can he convey, physically, that he is a slave to this object? Can he make us feel pity for Arnold the Ventriloquist, without saying any words? An actor can do that.

I don't know if Larry David could or not. I've never seen him act.
