when 90% of directors complain about digital camera yes. and Tarantino and mr. fanboy favorite Nolan are the leaders. Skyfall has perfect cinematography and Deakins got impossible shots because he used a digital camera. he got those shots because the camera was able to do what Tarantino and Nolan are saying can only be done with a film camera. he beat them .You had to put down other directors to prove the magnificence of this shot, eh?

and i love Django's look. love it.
read what lights they used and how much exposure would be needed to get a clear image with silluete's. and it was still a lot of effects combined with a clean clear image. impossible with film. You think that shot is not possible with film? Really?
Thank God Deakins was able to win!

Destroying downtown Tokyo in their rampage.Deakins vs. Predators: Whoever wins, we lose.
there are two articles that i remember. in one he used the word ''impossible'' for film. i am searching for it right now.You... have no idea how film works, do you?
and of course the best shot of the last 50 years. its perfect. its something that Tarantino and Nolan couldnt do with their camera.

they were able to use more natural lighting. boomYou do realize that he "just" lit the whole scene differently because digital requires different lghiting setup and adjustments, right? You can get this kind of image on film, but you have to go about it differently.
Not only did you misread him, you misquoted him, too.
i dont remember seeing a movie where the background had a high contrast led display . very different with Kill Bill..... Have you seen Kill Bill Volume One?

The dynamic set decoration in the skyfall shot is interesting, but really its nothing that hasn't been seen before.
Deakins is in fact a master cinematographer, but he was just as much of a master when working on film. The instant readout from the digital camera essentially gave the benefit of making it easier to set up the shots. He says nothing about the inability of film to capture the image itself.
this exact shot with the exact same set with the same lighting rig and led displays couldnt be done with film. fact. i dont care what they would have to change on the set with film. they couldnt be able to get the soft shadows on the actors and they wouldne be able ot get the interactive soft glossy reflections on the set and floor. and so on. noone forced Nolan and Tarantino to talk in the last 5 years that with the film camera you can capture everything and with the digital not. onone. You are impossible. Or a troll. And I know it's not a language barrier. Either way, I'm done.
