James Bond In Skyfall - - - - - Part 14

The girl with the unconventional smile.

Was listening to Skyfall's soundtrack, arrived at the track called "Quartermaster".

Is it me? Or does it remind one of those PS1/N64 Spider-man games? I can listen to the first half and instantly imagine Spidey chasing Venom in the NY sewers.

I glad film series like Bond and Batman made big box office because it gives any tired old series with the right ideas/people behind them a chance to reach success again no matter how ''bad'' the older films were. Bond is a 50 year series could it get any better. Yes it can and shows it will. Loved Skyfall.

I watched Skyfall which came out on DVD today here in Australia. I had avoided seeing it at the cinema because of the Quantum of Solace debacle, but was pleasantly surprised to see it right up there with Casino Royale and the best of the Connery films.

I still have trouble accepting a blonde James Bond though! Sorry, but Ian Fleming wrote the character with black hair. Even Roger Moore's brown haired Bond rattled my sensibilities. Sorry! Gotta admit thought that Daniel Craig has really excelled in the role.

And Javier Bardem is really one ugly looking dude, and he ranks right up there with Auric Goldfinger, Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Rosa Klebb as a Bond villain.

That's a huge compliment.

Being a big Bond fan, I saw Skyfall on opening night and loved it.

However upon watching it a few more times it has definitely slipped in my ratings list.

It's a fine movie but a little hollow. Some great moments but what was the film about? The list of agents that gets dropped less than halfway through? Silva's revenge which at best comes off as a little overdone?

It has wonderful acting and some great moments but wasn't this a glorified way to get Judi Dench out? Wasn't this film just leading to M's death and that's all? I didn't feel there was too much substance behind it but still enjoyed it.

It's a strange thing coming off of a film like Quantum...everything FEELS so much better but in reality it's not <that> much better.

That being said I hope we get more in the direction of Skyfall with a little more thought.

Good to see you back, rag!

I know what you mean, but I’d go with the overall theme of old/new and renewal. We get a new Moneypenny, Q and M. And Bond, who’s age and relevance was questioned, remains to fight on with them in this “brave new world”.
