James Bond In Skyfall - - - - - Part 14

Yeah, CR/QOS seemed like a reboot of Bond continuity, but Skyfall is basically what happens if Craig was cast as Bond, but they didn't reboot continuity at all.

I wouldn't go that far, there are some jarring things in it that separate it from the previous ones even before CR/QoS.

oh its a fantastic book, youll love it

It shipped today.:woot:

I can't believe there is even a discussion about the Craig films NOT being a reboot. Of course they are. It's a fact. It's like trying to argue that Batman Begins is a prequel to Tim Burton's Batman.

Nope. Fiennes' Gareth Mallory isn't Lee's Admiral Miles Messervy and this isn't about taking things full circle, it's about continuing to tell stories within extremely loose continuity of each other.

Well yeah. It is a reboot. What I meant was there was a conscious effort on the part of Broccoli and Mendes to return the style of the series to where it started in 1962. Not that it literally was a prequel to Dr No.

The style the film fits the most is CR.

If they were taking it back to the original few films, it wouldn't be The Dark Skyfall, just like CR wouldn't have been Bond Begins.

They went back to the old stuff. Building over Regent's Park, M's office on the 3rd floor, same ante-room, door, office. Only real change is the picture of the ship is not over M's desk. But I guess that's to show that this isnt Sir Mile's M who was a Navy admiral.

Exactly.

There is an actual MI6 building in London, and it looks to be in the same location as it is in Skyfall. That's the playing off reality.

The other things are familiar Bond franchise staples that are making it into this new series. Similar to the past? Yes, but necessary for this franchise. We saw familiar things in the recent Batman series and the new Spidey movie. That doesn't mean they aren't reboots of base material.

I wasn't saying they didn't use the MI6 building. I just said they are back to the building and office of the books and the movies up to Goldeneye.

I couldnt give a whit about the movies continuity really. I know my way around the story to know what goes where and when.

I prefer (and think it works best) just taking Craigs as its own continuity, I prefer the trilogy as its closest in tone to the books imo (or maybe its because Morre and Brosnans runs, minus Goldeneye, just turned me off the older movies)

Wether you give a whit or not that's another thing, but Craig movies are still a reboot of the movies continuity, I can't even fathom people are still talking about that.

Adele to sing theme for next James Bond movie

Adele is reportedly continuing her relationship with James Bond.

After Adele recorded the title theme song for 2012's "Skyfall," an unnamed (and potentially questionable) source told the UK's Sun that Adele will record another theme song for the next James Bond film.

“Producers are thrilled by how well the song has been received and hope Adele’s presence on the next film will replicate that success," the source said.

The Sun also reports that the producers behind "Skyfall" want Adele to follow in the footsteps of Dame Shirley Bassey, who recorded the themes for past James Bond films, including 1964's "Goldfinger" and 1971's "Diamonds Are Forever."

Adele and Bassey were both featured at the Academy Awards last month: Adele performed "Skyfall," while Bassey sang "Goldfinger."

Adele has yet to comment on a future with the James Bond franchise. She was long rumored to sing the "Skyfall" theme, revealing in 2011 that she was involved. For her part, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is a big Adele fan.

"You know, she's wonderful; we love her," Broccoli said last year before officially hiring Adele for "Skyfall." "So, it'll be great if she would do it."

It looks like she's going to become the next Shirley Bassey. I like it, but that would mean no Muse for next Bond too. :csad:

Since Skyfall was the best Bond song since Carly Simon, I approve.

Not a problem with me, either. I think Craig really wants her back and is a strong influence in regards to this.

Adele coming back?

ugh, I really like Skyfall but the song muse did was amazing and I would have loved that last time, now missing out on Muse again?

I liked Skyfall better than Supremacy. Though both are inferior to Nobody does it Better.

I liked it for not feeling too much like a Bond-film. Craig's not my favorite Bond though.

Muse for Bond-theme. It's long overdue.

Talking about it, what are your favorite theme songs?

You Know My Name in Casino Royale is still my favorite. I really love that song and the whole intro was great.

i actually really like another way to die (bring on the hate) I also like guns and roses rendition of live and let die

Hey, I'm with you. I love Another Way to Die. It's a sexy sexy song.
