James Bond In Skyfall - Part 6

I absolutely love Craig. But I need to see Fassbender as Bond before I die...

He's just so perfect in my opinion. Totally amazing actor AND with the charisma and look to pull Bond off.

Nolan as Bond helmer? Fass as Bond?

This is like suggesting Japan for Assassin's Creed 3. Not very interesting and unique.

I would much rather prefer unconventional choices. I want the next Bond to be someone who we could never fathom as Bond.

Can you imagine? If filmmakers thought like fanboys: we would never have Craig as Bond or Ledger as Joker.

For Nolan, I'd much rather he stick with infusing Bond elements in other films then outright helm Bond. Nolan is at his best when he is unrestrained by the studio system. Bond, frankly, would be a step backwards for him.

Some sweet news about the teaser. Can't wait for it to leak/officially hit. Second sweet news they already looking to get next bond out in 2014. So I hope they already got things rolling for script and what not. To work out rest of this yr. So they can then start shooting early next yr.

As for nolan would be interesting to see what he could do. But on other hand. Doesn't he like to have full control on productions. Which he wouldn't have with eon.

Fassbender could be a villain, if this were 1995 I'd choose him for Alec. I do not see him as Bond.

you know they could always reintroduce alec travelyn..... could have him introduced in one as an ally, but then turn in a later film....

He is this generations Clive Owen as in the man who was destined to play Bond but never did because he had the classic look. I would much prefer an unknown, completely wtf but intriguing choice.

As both a Bond-fanatic and a Nolanite I do not want Nolan to helm a Bond, for several reasons.

Likewise, Clive Owne would have been a horrible choice. He's as dull as they come.

I don't about know about Clive Owen, he's good, but not Bond. Fassbender Is like Bond ripped of the pages with look and charisma. But Craig is still top, he brought something more interesting and different.

Fassbender would be a perfect Bond. But if Craig does a fourth film (which I hope he does), Fassbender will be too old by the time they need to recast. Sean Bean would have been an interesting Bond himself, in my opinion.

Idris Elba.

aside from being the wrong skin color of the written character, that man is pure class, a great actor and riveting in everything he does. I so, SO wanted him to be in TDKR and was crushed when he wasn't.

I don't think he'll ever play Bond, I can't see him being a bad Bond

He would be great. But I don't think the world, raising as much of a ruckus as it did to a Bond with a different hair colour, is ready for that anytime yet.

Then maybe it's the time to make them ready :cwink: Sadly tho, Elba is a tad bit to old to take over after Craig :csad:

I know that past "Skyfall" threads have brought up the "Fassbender as Bond" talk.

So we'll just go round and round :)

-Fassbender has said first class was a very expensive Bond screentest

-Two suits reminiscent of Connery in Goldfinger. The silver one and a wetsuit

Paul Bettany?

And anyone find it funny that Ralph Fiennes is finally in a Bond movie? He was also a top contender for playing Bond for years.

Him and Ewan McGregor

Why even go that far? We have people turning over cars because Bond is drinking Heineken!

Imagine Bond wearing a suit with flames on it ;)

Prejudice against Fassbender being Bond just because he's already a known actor seem somewhat silly to me. I think he could bring a level of suave to Bond that has been missing for a long time but he also has the range to handle emotions or very tense situations. I think he could also potentially handle the physicality of the role.

For now though I will have settle for Hickoxx and Magneto. Fassbender has a thing for fighting Nazis doesn't he?

Clive owen had the classic look?? Owen is soooo boring, looks shabby, has no charisma and his voice is irritatingly dull. I don't know which is worse, listening to him or looking at him. Why people wanted him for Bond is beyond me.

As for Fassbender, it's not going to happen. Craig is our Bond, the definitive 21st century Bond and he's going to be around at least until 2014 and he'll most likely stay on for another 1 or 2 after that. I can see Craig doing at least 5 Bond films in total. At least. Whoever the next Bond is, he's not going to be any of the usual suspects that get thrown around as possible candidates.

Even if they don't switch actors for another 5 years, Fassbender would only be 40.

Additionally, on that last, is your last name Broccoli by any chance? Or are you some kind of industry Nostradamus? They aren't discussing anyone else right now, but that doesn't point to any direction in the future.

Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were all known entities when cast. Moore was "The Saint" from American television who was also discussed for the role in the early '60s before Connery got the part. In the early '70s, Cubby wanted Dalton for the role and Dalton turned it down. He made a name for himself in serious fare like The Lion in Winter. Brosnan was cast for the part in the mid-1980s after being popular on the canceled show Remington Steele. After he was cast the show was renewed and Brosnan publicly had to back out of the role. After audiences rejected Dalton in the role and he declined doing a third, the obvious choice was Brosnan who became Bond to much fanfare.

The only time EON has cast unknown (or unconsidered) actors in the role are Connery, Lazenby and Craig. There's a good chance Fassbender will be considered, even if he is Magneto. He's done a number of good roles, but nothing as career-defining as Bond yet. It's not like when Bale accepted Batman in the early 2000s. Unless XFC2 (or whatever it's called) pulls a TDK, I think Fassbender is still viable.

Thank you! I did not say it better myself, but I'm glad you did.

Craig rocks. Be happy.

Personally, I'm starting not care who the next Bond is since it's been beaten like a dead horse in this very thread. I'm actually more interested in who would be the directors in the next few Bond movies, but at the same time I'm more interested in Skyfall now than talking about future Bond movies.

Continue on, I'm just venting.

I think the best possible actor to play 007 in the next two or three films is Daniel Craig.

Daniel Craig is the perfect Bond, also love the idea of Idris Elba just because I love that guy in everything
