Was the problem with Quantum of Solace really the title of the film? The producers seem to think so, as they aren't using the old story titles any longer. We were just lucky for a short time, with Casino Royale and QoS being used.

There's no other explanation for why they didn't use The Hildebrand Rarity here. Or PoaL.

Bond girls are Bond girls. No matter what they are there for eye candy in part, though not completely anymore, but they still are, despite them becoming stronger characters over the years which is great and fine. But it's not like they're dressed like 18th century women. They hire beautiful actresses and we see them in low cut dresses and bikini's. Eye candy. Though now they're more than that which is something I'm fine with. Though to be honest, Honey Rider was prepared to kill Bond when he was spotting her. So they've always been strong characters, just changed with the times is all. But come on, we still lust for them. The girls are parts of the reasons why we love these films. Take out beautiful women wearing revealing clothes and it's not as fun.

There is another explanation as to why they did not use those titles and that is the film does not feature The Hidebrand Rarity or have anything that's The Property of a Lady. I mean it might be called Skyfall because something to do with Skyfall appears in the movie...

When did audiences ever become uncomfortable with long continuous action pieces? We never asked for seizure inducing action. Glad they are going back to action that we can watch and know what is going on.

I was watching QOS opening action bit when he is chasing that one guy. There are many times when only an arm or leg of Bond is in frame because the camera is moving so much and the cuts are so quick. It is utter garbage and ruined what could have been a good scene.

I doubt the title has anything to do with it. Quantum of Solace's problem wasn't a financial one.

I'm assuming that you're referring to the rooftop chase/church fight? I thought that sequence was quite good actually.

Certainly wouldnt call it 'utter garbage'.

The chase was great. The way it was shot and edited together was utter garbage.

Casino Royale is a loved film. Quatum of Solace didn't get the same reception from fans (even if it's a commercial success). The final film and the plot didn't reach the same quality level as Craig's first Bond adventure.
The producers think it will help with a non-Fleming title this time???? Or what?

Personally, I rarther see all of Craigs film have the old titles. It's so easy to write the plot around them. It's not even needed to use the old stories. Just the titles will be enough.

I wanted them to be used for many years, and people kept saying that something like Quantum of Solace will never work. Because it's too much "out there". But it did, in fact, and I hold that title as the best part of the latest Bond film to hit the cinemas. It feels both extraordinary and classy.
If something as far-fetched as Quantum of Solace can be used, then The Hildebrand Rarity could be too.
The Property of a Lady have been wanted by many fans. Why not use it as a title?
I can drop another suggestion as well. And that is Risico. Yes, that sounds like an agent/spy thriller.
