The poster will be revealed to coincide with the James Bond 50th anniversary movie screenings at the Cannes Film Festival, which takes place between 16th and 27th May 2012.

In a Bond production year, the Carlton Hotel is traditionally adorned with 007 livery.

Fans will also get to see the first theatrical teaser trailer for Daniel Craig's third outing as 007 on the 25th May when Sony attach the preview to "Men In Black 3". It is expected to debut online on the same day.

Five James Bond films will screen in new digital versions as part of the Cinema de la Plage screenings. The celebration will kick off with a 50th anniversary screening of "Dr No" directed by Terence Young and starring Sean Connery and Ursula Andress. It will be followed by screenings of "From Russia With Love", "Diamonds Are Forever", "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and "Casino Royale". This is the first time a James Bond film has screened during the festival.

Finally! Can we hope for the poster this week even?

So QoS' chase scene shouldn't have been a chase scene at all?

No...I think it just gets compared to the one from CASINO ROYALE a bit. I rather like it myself, though the end of it is a bit contrived.

Nevermind. I thought you meant the car chase. And since CR didn't have a car chase, i was a bit confused.

I agree the roof chase bit wasn't that bad.

The roof chase was about the only decent part. Inside the tunnel and the other interior spaces it was a mess tho. I really like QOS but the framing and execution of the action sequences leaves so much to be desired.

The whole movie leaves something to be desired, but alas, it was rushed and it definitely shows. I'm glad they're taking their time with Skyfall. If everything goes right, I seriously think this could be one of, if not the best Bond movie ever.

Tomorrow Never Dies has been shown over here in the UK Sunday night (again), and I noticed that there are some similarities between this film and You Only Live Twice. The plot of TND involves Carver trying to start a war between the Chinese and the UK, using a stealth boat. Biofeld did something similar using a spacecraft to start problems between the USA and Russia.

Tomorrow Never Dies is such a strange movie because it's so..middle of the road. I like it, but I don't. And it just kinda went down from there with the next two movies. I doesn't push the series forward like what Goldeneye did; it's just there. And I don't think that it's a good thing either. It wasn't until Casino Royale made Bond a bit more relevant to the public again and not just the Bond fans, and that's a shame for Pierce's run.

Tomorrow Never Dies is awful IMO. The movie is mostly action and barely any plot. The only time Brosnan gets to do any kind of proper acting is in his scenes with Teri Hatcher's character, Paris. The rest of the time he's on auto pilot firing guns and rolling off the occasional droll one liner.

Elliott Carver was a weak villain, too. No charm, charisma or sense of real menace like previous great megalomaniac Bond villains such as Auric Goldfinger and Donald Pleasance's Blofeld.

A big let down after Goldeneye.

Tomorrow never dies is the definition of a generic Bond movie. It takes no risks, and is very safe. There's nothing that really makes it Terrible, but nothing that sets it apart or makes the movie exciting.

The villain is weak, and the sad thing is that he could have been amazing. There's so much potential with media control, but it all went underdeveloped.

Funny about TND being the generic Bond movie is that my bud Tony got into Bond because of that movie. Bunch of us were at a friends house and it came on and it was his first Bond experience. It was a nice overview of the character and series tropes for him. In the next few months he had read all the books and gotten all the DVDs, so the movie does have a purpose.

I agree. Some of the stunts were just "bleh"

Too choreographed/played safely.

For "The World is not enough" I always smile at seeing the dummy bounce around in the "Q" boat when it does that mid air twirl.

The best thing about Tomorrow Never Dies is the soundtrack, especially the tracks 'Backseat Driver' and 'White Knight'. David Arnold music during the Bronsan era started well, then he got too crazy with the synths and drum machine e.g Die Another Day.

His music during Daniel Craig's era so far has been okay (even though he should have used the Bond Theme throughout QoS), but after 5 films at least someother composer (Thomas Newman) is being given a chance.

The only thing more generic than TND was its cinematography. Every shot was so uninspired.

The worst thing about TND is the script. After he and the girl abseil off Carver's building, Bond says, 'next time we'll take the elevator'.

...for heaven's sake. Was that really the best thing the writers could come up with?

I know, really Bond should have said "next time we'll take the Lift"...bad writing.

I hate it when they have Bond using American words, such as when he said Vacation in TWINE and Cell phone in CR.

Those action scenes with Bond and Lin cuffed together were ruined by the fact that Lin was able to pick the lock at any time but decided not to and just made their escape all the more unnecessarily difficult.

Question, what are they called in the UK? The difference in terms was mentioned on an episode of Sherlock as well.

Elavator = lift

Vacation = holiday

Cell = 'mobile' if you want to specify your mobile phone as distinct from a land line of business number, or more commonly just 'phone', as in "I forgot my phone".

My complaint about the line Brosnan delivered as he was dangling off a building is that the whole thing is cliched, obvious and more cheesey than a particularly ripe and varied cheese board in a smart hotel that is famous for its cheese selection. The inappropriate Americanism just makes it a little bit worse.
