I really do think that the quality of the theme songs have nosedived in recent years. The only good one since Goldeneye was You Know My Name.

Compare that to the 60s and 70s when you had classics like Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, We Have All the Time in the World, Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die and Nobody Does it Better.

We Have All the Time in the World is still generally considered to be the theme of the movie even though it doesn't play over the opening credits, much like From Russia with Love. You are right though that the On Her Majesty's Secret Service Medley is awesome in its own right and probably the best instrumental theme of any of the films. I also love the instrumental version title theme from From Russia with Love. I like it better than the actual Matt Monro song.

That's a myth. On the TB dvd commentary the director talks about Tom putting his all into the recording and having to sit down after every take.


Since we are talking Bond music, my favorite one is from OHMSS. Pretty much all my favorites in the movie series comes from that movie. Still the best in the series IMO.
