James Bond In Skyfall - Part 7

“Fans really can expect all the key ingredients that have made this franchise last for 50 years – action, sense of humor, the characters are very high in colours” Marlohe — who appears in the new 007 movie opposite Daniel Craig — told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival on May 21. “They have a fantastic cast and a fantastic director. They really can expect one of the better, if not the best Bond ever. I really think they will really enjoy it.”

It's a pretty big deal that he's still on the loose, they made a point to show that in the opera scene. I think they did a pretty good job showing how slippery he was and how much low cunning he possessed.

That said the actor who played him doesn't want to return, so I imagine if they do revisit Quantum they'll probably just re-use the alternate ending from QoS as an opener.

Oh yeah, what he said was horrible and can't be justified.

He said that Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were "****" and that too many characters died or some nonsense. He came off as *****ebag.

Afterwards he came back with this:

"I have great respect for the people who make Bond films. They have managed to create their very own meta-universe, almost a genre in itself and a series of 23 films now. It is unique."

"I think Casino Royale is a super movie, which I am proud to be involved in. I think my character was becoming a really fun one and would have continued if it had been timely."

"Humour is a dangerous case with journalists, in line with 'Oh, they got me. Bond is a sissy', or similar. Come on, if the Bond films were that bad, I would not have made them."

QoS had an alternate ending? Never heard that before, what was it?

huh, didn't know he was joking. wonder if EON got the memo ?

ah, glad that wasnt shown, sounds very cheesy and that bond didnt learn anything.

I'm hoping this could be the first bond film that gets to 200 million domestically, it would be fitting being on the 50th anniversary and all.

Why do you say that? I am pretty sure it would be on the orders of M.
becase what I took away from QoS is that his frantic demeanour had been overcome since he didnt kill Green first and foremost and then Vespers BF. Had he killed White, it would have nullified this development. And no, I seriously doubt White would have been killed by orders from M. He got away in the beginning, why wouldn't they want him alive again?

What are you talking about? Bond did kill Green. He makes it very clear that he is leaving him to die. Either his own people will kill him or the desert will. Bond could of brought him in, he didn't. He left him to die. He didn't even leave him with water. M's remark about them finding oil in his system and Bond denying knowing anything about this makes it clear.

And Bond had already busted their ring. He had figured out the major players and has plenty of people they could get to talk. They didn't need White. He was clearly too dangerous alive.

Instead of killing him by dropping him in the fire, he saved him and got info out of him. The he left Green a choice.

A choice on how to die. Bond killed him, which is why he lies to M. He could have brought him in for more questioning under M's supervision, he didn't. It defeats your entire point.

It is no different then Bond showing up and shooting White in the face, especially after he got all the info he needed out of Greene and the photos he got at the opera.

Nah, He still saved him. But I see we're not getting anywhere with this so lets just agree to disagree :)

This isn't an agree to disagree situation. You are completely ignoring what happens in the film.

What do you call leaving someone in the desert to die, other then leaving someone in the desert to die? Bond spells it out. Why does Bond lie to M, who obviously already knows the truth, if he didn't leave Greene to die? Why didn't Bond bring him in? Bond literally refuses to bring him in.

Green got a choice not to drink it. And he got a choice to get back to civilisation, people can actually survive if they want to. Also, he got two shots in the back according to M, which says he most probably died of wounds gotten by Quantum hitmen, and not the oil.

It wasn't the motor oil that killed him it was the The two bullets in the back of his head :o

By the way, Michael G Wilson said Mr White is responsible for that.

Question: So, Bond has got a huge kill rate and he gets that speech from M. about Fields, and I was thinking afterwards that when he gives the oil can to Mathieu Almaric in the desert that he's responsible. And then when we hear that the two shots in the back of the neck with oil in the stomach, that somehow the people –

Wilson: White has caught up with him again, yeah. Finished him off. Bond says, “They’ll be looking for you.”

That makes more sense than bringing out a bozset just before the latest movie is released.....

I'm thinking of getting that. As much as I don't want some of those Bond films. I'd love to just sit down one day and watch all of them through, sicne I haven't seen all of them (like 5 or 6)
