The London 2012 Opening Ceremony Plans Leak to The Royalist

It’s all top secret, hush-hush under wraps, so if you don’t want to ruin the big surprise, then perhaps it would be better to stop reading now rather than write in the comments box later what a miserable curmudgeon I am, ruining people’s fun etc etc. Just an idea, but hey, whatever turns you on.

So sources say that as the lights go down for the big opening ceremony a week on Friday, a short film will begin, which will be shown on giant screens at the Olympic stadium and on TV at the same time. It features everybody’s favourite special agent, James Bond aka Daniel Craig, arriving with a crunch of gravel at Buckingham Palace. He makes his way inside, and the next clip is THE QUEEN HERSELF tapping Mr Craig on the shoulders and uttering the immortal words, “Arise Sir James”.

This is the first time the Queen has ever enaged in a fictional scenario on camera.

Sir James is then given a special mission, to open the London 2012 games. He heads outside and jumps into a waiting chopper, emblazoned with a Union Jack. This then speeds up the Thames, flying underneath Tower Bridge (the footage was filmed in sunny June).


Back at the stadium, the air is filled with the sound of whirling helicopter blades, as the very same chopper now magically appears above the stadium in real time, assuming it is not shot down by the surface to air missiles located on a nearby London tower block. A hatch opens. A rope drops.

AND DANIEL CRAIG ABSEILS INTO THE STADIUM!!

It’s going to be mega, folks, it all kicks off a week on Friday and you heard it here first.

Courtesy of Honda, here are two images from the opening sequence of upcoming James Bond film Skyfall. [THE IMAGES I POSTED EARLIER]

The sequence, which was shot in Istanbul and Adana, Turkey earlier this year, features Bond (Daniel Craig) and henchman Patrice (Ola Rapace) riding Honda CRF250R bikes.

To complete the sequence twenty machines were provided and ‘dressed’ into two native styles. One is a Turkish police bike that Patrice seizes after a policeman crashes, the other is a merchant’s bike that Bond uses to pursue Patrice through the streets.

Both bikes feature extensive modifications courtesy of Chris Corbould’s award-winning Special Effects team.

Two further bikes were used as HD camera filming machines, as only a motorbike could easily enable the camera crew to keep up with the chase scene and follow the various stunts.

Stunt Co-ordinator for Skyfall, Gary Powell, commented, “We needed a highly versatile and quality off-road motorbike that could be easily modified, without compromising performance or safety, for the opening sequence of Skyfall. Honda’s CRFs are probably the best off-roaders out there so it’s great that we’ve been able to partner with Honda as the bikes, whilst heavily modified, were superb to work with.”

Speaking of America, I've been out of the loop for a long time but I hope Jeffery Wright as Felix Leiter makes a appearance in Skyfall.

I brought that up before there was no news of him filming at sll while shooting was going on. And jeffery prior to filming mentioned he wasn't contacted for the film. Sure be nice if he was in it but felix doesn't need to be in every film and character more then likely will get a nod somewhere in film.
