James Bond In Skyfall - Part 9

That's because Lazenby is in his "disguise".

And Dalton looks most like Fleming's depiction of Bond.

Exactly, it is amazing how close Dalton looks to Fleming's description of Bond, also independently of that I really like his look better than the others and I confirm that by looking at the magazine covers, that is how Bond should look IMO. Of course this is all personal preference.

Its a great Bond theme and reminds me of Goldeneye's theme. I guess some were looking for a song that stands on its own and can be blasted on their speakers. Personally i was looking for a good theme which is what this is. It isnt a song written for its own sake. It is a theme for a film and is meant to work with the film. Cant really look at a theme like you would a single from a commercial CD from an artist. This is part of the score for the film. An extension of the film itself. Someone said the lyrics are silly but i dont see how they are anymore silly than Goldeneye's. All theme's lyrics fit the film in some way so I am sure these lyrics will make sense in the context of the film.

It sounds more reminiscent of The World Is Not Enough to me.

Just heard a 1:29 preview of the song...and i love it!

It's classic Bond and leauges better than QoS theme!

Am I the only one who thinks that "Tomorrow Never Dies" by Sheryl Crow is super underrated?

I think it's better than any of the other songs in the Bronsan era, including Tina Turner's Goldeneye.

BTW, I love Adele's tune. My review thus far: Me likes what Me's hears!

I like that song as well.

I'm getting chills listening to the drums, Adele launching into the 'let the sky fall' chorus and the song peaking - and imagining hearing it in IMAX with the title sequence visuals.

Just heard the Adele preview...LOVE IT.

Jack White and Alicia Keys, I love you both, but THIS is what a Bond song should sound like, imo.

Friday can't get here any sooner. I need the remaining 3 minutes.

God I can't wait to hear the rest. I don't pretend to be a Bond expert (though I am a fan), but that sounds very old school. It gets me in such a zone and mood, and I can't wait for the movie it accompanies even more now.

If you're talking about Surrender, then I'm with you. If you're talking about the main title song, TND, then it's easily in my bottom 5 Bond songs.

I like Adele's song, but I'm holding out 'cause I'm still in love with Muse's Supremacy.

The latter. "Say it is over, goodbye!" I can see someone being indifferent towards it but not outright hate it when you got worse tunes out there.

I don't have a Bottom Five, but I don't like the songs from Die Another Day, The World is Not Enough, and Never Say Never Again.

I liked "The World is Not Enough" quite a bit. But then, I was a pretty big Garbage fan back in the day, lol.

Not many get a third film and the third film sort of defines the actor's Bond

Goldfinger
The Spy Who Loved me
The World Is Not Enough

I disagree about The World is Not Enough. At best it was an okay Bond but its also a missed opportunity. Plus it's boring as heck.

The World is Not Enough is awful, imo. The theme song was pretty much the only thing I liked about it, lol. I think Goldeneye is easily Brosnan's most significant entry in the franchise.

DAD is in the Mediocrity pile, I love TWINE and I don't count NSNA. I'm talking about the songs.

Personally I dislike The World is Not Enough more than Die Another Day, which too was a mess. But I thought Die Another Day had enough..creative energy to make it kinda watchable. Kinda.

Infact I think Goldeneye was Pierce's only good movie. It's not his fault though. Eon was just went through the motions with the other ones (ie got lazy).

I'm glad the feedback to "Skyfall" is so positive, but I think I'll wait until the film to hear it. As for past themes, the only one that does nothing for me at all - and this is one that never comes up - is "All Time High" from Octopussy (and, if I count Never Say Never Again - which I tend not to - that one as well). "The Man with the Golden Gun" and "Die Another Day" are at the bottom along with it, but at least I can enjoy "The Man with the Golden Gun" on a kitschy level (more than I can say for the film itself) and "Die Another Day" does work along with that main title sequence.
