I'd love to see that happen
Webbing might be easier to make

I wonder if we get the insulated suit in the Movie, or if Peter mixes something into the webbing to help him fight Electro
I think I'd prefer the latter.

I hope for both. I was going to mention it yesterday but I forgot.
I'm not against a change of costume at least for the final battle.

When talking about popularity (not iconic image), some of you guys make it seem as if America is the world, not surprisingly.

Anyway yeah, in popularity Supes' definitely in top 3 but I just think Spidey and Batman top him worldwide.

Lol, this is true, but even I did mention that I have always said how Superman is only an American cultural icon.

Anno: Who are your top 5 Spidey villains?

Personal favorites:

1.) Venom
2.) Lizard
3.) Shocker
4.) Kaine
5.) Spot

It seems to bother people the obvious similarities between Amazing Spider-Man and Twilight :D .

It would bother you too when comparisons can be made to a dull and boring franchise :woot:

TASM and Twilight are one in the same, this has always been a Twilight forum.

Your assumption that fans would still watch a horrible movie even if they feature a favorite superhero is hilarious.
SM3 and IM2 say hi
And technically it was better recieved than TASM,and you can see the difference in earnings

Well that's a good point, but I have said Superman is an American cultural icon. Worldwide, I could see Spider-Man taking the cake and Batman possibly being a close second, but that still doesn't make sense to why Iron Man could be in the top three. Never speculated Iron Man as someone whose popular worldwide.

Definetely IM is more popular now overseas than Supes,IM1 and Avengers really increased his popularity exponentially, props to RDJ aswell

Wait for next summer
I though it was clear and totally expected that IM3 would have more hype
Its the 3rd installement and coming after a phenomenally successful Avengers
I would say the hype will be even more than TASM2 the same period before the release, let alone MOS

Well Man of Steel definitely has a good start on having fans really excited for the film more. And I bet outside of these forums, Man of Steel has become a very anticipated film for next summer, possibly even more than Iron Man 3. I would not be surprised since it is, obviously, Superman.

Dont know about America but that definitely wont be the case overseas.

I think, and hope, it will get at least $800 million WW. It could probably be overreaching, but I just think after the achievements Christopher Nolan has made and him being behind this project, plus it being Superman, I definitely hope for the best. Even a little bit less than that like TAS-M($752) would be fine, but I definitely don't want it to have Batman Begins' WW numbers.

Agreed, they will probably plaster Nolan's name all over the advertisements

Are they that scared to death about doing a new Goblin story? That's the way it comes off to me.
I'll (reluctantly) dismiss your Twilight/hippie comparison to answer your question here. The answer is no. They want a build up to the Goblin story, they're not afraid of it. Marc has stated countless times that he loves the "Gwen Stacy saga", implying that we will see her end eventually. They just don't want to rush it. He also recently explained his fascination with the different incarnations of Norman. Trust me when I say that we will see The Goblin in this franchise, and they want it to feel natural. I'm iffy on it happening in the third film, but I really, really doubt that they're "scared to death" about doing a new Goblin story.

And you never know, Norman may be in this one to lay the groundwork for his sinister turn in the third film.

I'm hoping for insulated webs and costume and I'm not being to greedy by hoping the spider tracer makes a long overdue appearance.

Yeah I'm not talking about you specifically, but I see this many times when it comes to Americans :P

Nice to see Shocker in the list. As you maybe know already, he's one of my faves as well :) Didn't expect to see Lizard as number 2, no Green Goblin or Doc Ock etc. I can imagine how pissed you must've been at the ASM Lizard.

My personal top 5 list at the moment:

1) Green Goblin
2) Mysterio
3) Shocker
4) Doc Ock
5) Lizard

Yo, BRO!!!!

Must it always be Joe?

GI Jane?

Spider-Man 3 and Iron Man 2 are sequels to enormous CBMs and were going to be seen whatsoever, but I don't understand how a pathetic movie as S-M 3 made THAT much. Also...comparing S-M 3 and IM 2? Really? Iron Man 2 may not have been great, but it's not THAT bad.

And what film are you talking about that was better received than TAS-M? If you're referring to Superman Returns, the top critics score is less.

Definetely IM is more popular now overseas than Supes,IM1 and Avengers really increased his popularity exponentially, props to RDJ aswell

So if movies can do this, I guess we'll see what happens next summer then, correct?

I think it's clear that MOS already has a huge fanbase as it is.

And just because a reboot wasn't well received or made the most money out of the big CBMs this year doesn't mean MOS won't be a juggernaut next year.

And what? Comparing the hype to IM 3 to TAS-M 2? You just said the success to Avengers will help IM 3....what success did TAS-M make to help its sequel?

Dont know about America but that definitely wont be the case overseas.

We shall see.

And nothing wrong with that since he's the godfather of Man of Steel. It's like plastering J.J. Abrams' name all over the promotion for Revolution when Eric Kripke is the one who created it. Nothing wrong with that, but of course you'll mention this as something so terrible.

It's an option. :o

Holy **** this looks badass.

Lol, well I am aware of how great Ock and GG are, but I do have my favorites above them, lol. They would be in the top ten of my personal favorites though, but I know how GG and Ock are the greatest villains for Spidey. And yah...the way Lizard was portrayed in TAS-M...I greatly hope to see Lizard done right in another reboot, lol.

Plus, I would also like to say that Mysterio would also fit in a top ten if I made a list as well.

Not crazy about this casting decision. Hopefully Webb can steer Foxx in a great direction. And I guess this finally debunks the speculation that Massee was playing Electro. I always thought he was Gobby and still do.

He actually looks like a pretty creppy Norman/Goblin. I bet he'll be part of the sequel. No doubt in my mind.:word:

Finally saw the post credits scene in the first Webb Spidey film, it's good for Electro that his face was obscured, maybe he won't be hammy in this film

Wonder if they'll make him more like Tombstone, calm, does his job right, doesn't act like a goofball

I thought the casting of Foxx clarified that Massee wasn't Electro in the post-credits scene.

Not only does he sound like Norman, he looks like him too.

What gave you the impression they would? Electro won't be hammy in this.

Masse looks like he could be a great Norman. Not overly recognizable.

I thought Rhys Ifans said in an interview that the figure in the post-credits scene was definitely not Norman, but maybe that was just misdirection.
