I really hope the chemicals re-bleaches his skin.... From a real world perspective, if they're acidic enough to eat away at his clothing, it should be enough to release some of the ink back into the bloodstream or to the top levels of the skin (thus burned off).

I don't care about the real world perspective of it. If it gets rid of those tattoos then it will be easily overlooked for the great service it's doing.

Chemical bath scene looked epic, folks, excuse my ignorance, is it cannon that Harley was bathed in chemicals? This is new to me, i'm more Superman orientated.


This film will be awesome, it will do well. It's like expendables meets Heat and Alice in wonderland all at once.

Well New 52 wise (Suicide Squad #6 and 7 and Detective Comics#23.2/Harley Quinn#1) That is her origin. Joker pushed her in the chemical bath which then fully made her Harley Quinn. But Joker and Harley looked epic here!

I took that to mean that this iteration will pay tribute to what's come before in addition blazing new territory. I already hear a similarity to Ledger in his voice, so there's that.

No, I think he means that there will already be a continuity of history in regard to The Joker's history/relationship with Harley (prior to the present-day events in SS), their history and past with Batman and in Gotham, and possibly Joker's origin which might not be as vague this time.

This isn't the first time Joker's popped up in this universe, as it was when both Ledger and Nicholson's Jokers came about in-universe.

for the sake of speculation, what's the general consensus?

1.) joker is a pale tattooed psycho path who dyes his hair green and wears lipstick and then, alongside harley quinn takes a bath in a vat of chemicals to become 100% permawhite?

2.) he is already permawhite and is bathing harley (who is already deranged at this point given the makeup and hair dye) so that she officially becomes is better half?

Actually you're right, that makes a lot more sense. For some reason I thought he was referring to the broader history of the character, but you're absolutely right- this version has an in-film history which makes him a different animal.
