Jared Leto IS The Joker - - - - - - Part 15

Agreed. The Joker only loves himself and Batman, because he views him as a great challenge and, perhaps, one of the few things that is interesting in the world and worth bothering with in life. IMO, he views Batman as the closest thing out there to being his equal. Harley doesn't come close. Like Batman said, the Joker had Harley pegged for hired help the minute she walked into Arkham.

Yeah, that's always how I interpreted it as well. I've always seen the Joker as practically asexual; the only things he's truly interested in are causing chaos and pain. That was one of the things that always bugged me about Nicholson's Joker... How they had to make him fixated on Vicki Vale just to make her more central to the plot. It was kind of unnecessary, since she was investigating Batman and dating Bruce, so that would have been enough to keep her heavily involved. But I suppose if you have Jack as your villain, you need to have him creepily stalking your female lead, lol.

well there is certainly more joker footage in that vid than in whole movie

Can we make a fan edit of TC when it hits DVD, trailers and this video? :D

Upon my second viewing I found myself enjoying Leto's Joker even more, its an extremely frustrating experience thugh since he was so underutilized and in the end, unnecessary to the film itself.

I felt as though Leto was VERY weak... Didn't care for his performance at all, nor what they chose to do with his character. Extremely underwhelming. Didn't even need to be in the movie, purely marketing purposes if you ask me. I can honestly say I don't want him in any future Batman solo movies. Scrap the character and move on, you tried. Batman has a bunch of other villains waiting to hit the big screen that they could start on a clean slate with.

I think a lot of people are still stuck on Ledger, as I really dug this interpretation. It feels like a comic version of Joker persona wise to me.

While I agree with the criticisms towards the portrayal of Joker and Harley's relationship in the movie ... Is it fair to speculate that maybe we haven't seen the full extent of their relationship yet? Joker is not in the film much at all; we may have only seen one side to their relationship.

Or, you know, the DCEU totally screwed that up, too.
That is one great way of looking at it.

If you've seen the movie Interview with a Vampire. Its basically told from Louis/Brad Pitt's perspective. In the books that the story is based on there is a quote in the next one saying Louis "got him wrong." So that's something they can explore.

Loved it.
I'm loving the video vibes. Sue me.

I've seen some people say this captures him better than the movie which is sad. I do see a bit of Jim Carrey for some reason though, lol.

I still think Ledger is probably too fresh in a lot of people's minds. Also this is such a different take and this Joker is in a much lesser movie.

Imagine if Ledger's Joker was in a lesser movie only had 10 mins of screen time and featured poor edits.

Those tics of his would be annoying. However, Nolan allowed him to breathe while on screen and also allowed you to explore.

Not saying Leto will be a great Joker. I just feel a guy like Ben Affleck would get a lot more out of him than Ayer.

@terry i don;t believe that's the case. It just wasn't that phenomenal. Underwhelmed is the word i use. I am someone who wanted Joker recast in TDKR, so I was ready t try something new and this just didn't hit too hard. With that said there is no way we get any other villain as the main, but this joker in the batman solo

Yeah exactly. I really just wish they did something with him that made a large impact. I think the basis was there and the story itself didn't provide enough for the character to do. We're so used to The Joker being a strong presence even when he's off screen and here it didn't feel like that and the fact that he always has a great opening scene to each film he's in, something memorable, the way they introduced him in this was pretty lackluster it didn't come in with a bang.

Suicide Squad itself is full off too many other colorful characters, that's the thing. Usually when Joker is in a thing he's like the wackiest guy there. Here every other character is a nut.

Seems to be that way for some.

I gotta say yea he's gotta cut the eyebrows and not use makeup. Looks very Jim Carrey with the makeup.

It was so disappointing that the psychiatric scene, the Harley dip, the Quinn suit scene, never to breath. They were so in and out, choppy.

I personally enjoyed his look in the film, and his mannerisms and his eyes really did a lot for me, purely cold and murderous. I really do hope that this talk of a possible Director's Cut is true, or that we at least get the deleted scenes on the Blu-ray.

Thats what I mean.

Imagine if the Batman interrogation scene was cut down, the meeting with the mob was cut down, the madness is like gravity scene was cut down, etc etc was cut down in TDK.

That would really impact how you view the Joker. The dialogue is the best part of the Joker on screen.

I love Jack's cause he's hilarious. Everything he says or does keeps me grinning.

I love Heath's because he's just so damn interesting. There are times where it's not like he's talking to Batman but he's talking to the audience. Wonderfully done.

This seems exactly like the New 52 Joker/Suicide Squad stuff, which is cool, but they didn't have a solid plan in place.

I mean waller says harley is crazier and more fearless than this joker smh

The truth is, is that there just wasn't enough room in the film for The Joker.
