There's also Walton Goggins, Alex Ross Joker incarnate.

Walton Goggins should be a household name, that dude oozes talent.

would've made an exceptional joker with that set of choppers.

He would be my 2nd choice honestly. That dude is great in everything he's been in. (I still need to start watching Vice Principals)

Yeah I can kinda see it, he was pretty good in Funny Games.

Hell, if not him then the other guy who played Mason Verger after he left Hannibal, Joe Anderson could pull it off . They both played a disgusting, horrifying, unlikable yet somehow at the same time likable and amusing character. I kinda like the idea of Anderson as John Constantine , though.

he carries vice principals with every scene he's in. the 2nd episode is awesome.

I think the reason why I didn't love this Joker was because he just wasn't funny.

Joker shouldn't act menacing or intimidating. The whole reason why he's intimidating and menacing to other characters is his immense unpredictability and willingness to pretty much do anything.

The character from the comics and the one that Romero, Nicholson, Hamill and even Ledger played had this playful amicability to him. Like if you separate him from his horrifying actions the Joker is actually sort of endearing and charismatic.

Agreed. The Joker was missing humor in this. Here, he was just a quirky crime boss.

And, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don't see anyone "topping" Heath Ledger's performance. Nobody has to, though. Ledger's Joker is one of those once in a lifetime/lightning in a bottle type of things. So, because of that, I think it's pretty pointless to be drawing comparisons.

Comparisons or not, I'm not satisfied with this Joker yet, and there wasn't enough of him in the movie to really leave an impression on me. He should have undoubtedly been the main villain in this instead of Enchantress. That decision would have been much more of a crowd pleaser, if you ask me.

I love Walton Goggins, but Jared Leto is the Joker now. Accept it and learn to live with it.

We also asked Leto if he was upset about any of his scenes getting cut – as previously reported – to which he responded.

“Were there any that didn’t get cut? I’m asking you, were there any that didn’t get cut? There were so many scenes that got cut from the movie, I couldn’t even start. I think that the Joker… we did a lot of experimentation on the set, we explored a lot. There’s so much that we shot that’s not in the film.

Damn. lol

So sad. Now we can only imagine what might have been.

It's true. I don't know if you guys are living off 2008 Nostalgia but go back and rewatch a lot of the stuff just doesn't do it for me anymore. He's great but I found Leto has far more to his character and I can't wait to get him in a full movie showing all this off.
I rewatched The Dark Knight a few days ago; Ledger was still phenomenal. One of, if not the, best performances in any CBM, ever. That's not nostalgia talking.

That really upsets me a lot. I really did enjoy what we did get to see of Jared's interpretation it really is a shame they cut as much as they did.

Oh, come on. Is everyone seriously in agreement with this? I've seen precisely one-live action Joker who this applied to, and that was Romero. Everyone else has had several moments of genuine fear/intimidation factor in their performances.

Some of the greatest iterations of Joker (from Morrison in particular) have had very little moments of levity or cheeriness to his persona. This is hardly out-of-character.

I’m seeing the film in a couple of hours, but as long as Joker himself is having joy at the expense of others, then that ticks off a proper box for me.

I hope Batfleck make him justice, he was a great Joker imho.

Agreed. I've watched TDK several times as of late and Ledger is absolutely astounding in every scene. He steals the show, he made that damn movie what it was.

But yeah, foolish of WB to have Leto do so much and then show so little. All hope lies with Affleck's solo outing.

If Batman has been Batman for 20 years, seeing as how this Joker is so young, are we to assume that they hadn't encountered each other until well into Batman's career...? The age for this Joker (or the age he appears) seems strange to me, seeing as how this Batman is old and the Joker appears half his age. It would have been better played if this Joker had actually been a past Robin, gone bad.....

Jeez. Someone give Leto a hug. Or a cookie. :funny:

It is sad, though. It is painfully obvious that this film got mutilated in the editing room. Granted, some of the movie's problems would still be there regardless of what was cut, but ... Yeah. I think the film would have been a lot more coherent had it not been so heavily cut.

Something tells me that WB really dictated the run time of the film. People complained about BvS's runtime. I think Suicide Squad's editing can thank BvS for what happened.

Jared Leto is a year older the Ben Affleck. His Joker isn't young. He has clearly found a fountain of youth and decided not to share with the rest of us.

Just look at the "why so serious" scene with Gambol in TDK, or the part where he takes care of the Chechen. Ledger's Joker was intimidating as ****.

I don't feel bad for WB, they should have learned from BvS that cutting their movies down is a bad idea. Now what, are they going to release an ultimate cut of SS too? If this becomes a trend with them, then people will just wait for their movies to be released on dvd/bluray. This kinda sucks for WW and JL.
