but wasn't joker originally a gangster and a bank robber ???
and i like that each of the jokers has been a different beast so far.

Gangsta, not gangster. Lose the tattoos and grills and keep the clothing from the scene with Harley falling into the chemical vat then you would have a good look there.

I'm fine for different interpretations to the Joker, but that doesn't mean that every interpretation is equally valid.

joker and harley needed a solo film before this. all their flashbacks felt like a supercut from a movie that already played a year or two ago - like previously, just to remind you,...

i guess i'm just not bothered by the tattoos and the grill like the rest of you. it part of his look, whateva.

The grills bothered me the most just because it made him sound horrible.

yeah, but harley is a dyed blond - joker wasn't blond but presumably a brunette . she does get those permanent dyed tips from their shirts melting. also, it's acid that doesn't burn their skin. are we really going to look for ways to justify it.

I don't think we should try to explain this. What color the hair turns to in the bath is kind of irrelevant after a few months since all that will have been cut off (they clearly kept getting haircuts).

I'm not sure now, though I personally hope Leto comes back, but going from an Oscar winning performance to this with the movie's reception, his character's reception, the cut scenes etc. it all must be a bit... off putting.

And he seems to have changed his tune since the movies release from saying he could play the Joker over and over again for the rest of his career, to now being a bit more cagey and saying he would come back IF people liked him enough if not he would go live in a cave (his own words lol) he seems kinda bummed out about the whole thing.

Though him and Affleck seem to be good friends, maybe working alongside Ben and being directed by him would be enough to get him across the line for the Batman solo we'll see I guess.

True. Another chance to go full blown Joker in a big Joker movie with Affleck might be too good to pass up. Affleck has more power at WB than Ayer and every Batman and Joker need their own vs film to shine and that could be Affleck's film. Jared also should know how the film industry works by now and see that things do get cut all the time in film.

Just watched another interview with Leto and he says that he hasn't seen the movie so he's not sure what exactly has been cut. He would like to come back if people want him to (obviously this is ******** because he's under contract).

I know Leto doesn't really like to revisit past performances so maybe that's why he skipped watching the movie.

I'm not bothered by them either.
I love the tattoos(well, most of them) and teeth.

I'm with you guys on all of this. And yeah they needed a separate movie before, especially Mister J

honestly, i would have been satisfied if this movie included an extended sequence or a super-cut of their therapy sessions and her falling for him rather then her being already in love with him at the start, longer electroshock and that cut sequence where they argue and he slaps her before the chemical wedding. but so much of his scenes were cut that we only got glimpses of his performance. that is what is most frustrating - they didn't let a single scene of his breath.

The therapy in particular looked amazing also the way he said "Dr Quinzel....I live for those moments".

What did he do at the premiere then? :hmm

I thought the strip club scene was amazing. The way he said "I gift you,to this handsome...honka honka " ...

I found him funny, threatening and completely insane at the same time.

common was effed the moment he looked in her direction and commented that she was one fine *****. except or refuse his offering, he was getting that bullet to the head.

so, what you are saying is that the movie was missing some quintessential Beyonce up in there.

I really liked how they killed that security guard with an exploding gift basket.

I'm rewatching Angel and in a season one episode Angel is the bodyguard for an actress. In one scene he goes with her to a premiere for her movie and they simply just walk the red carpet and then make their way to the back exit of the theater. Maybe it's common for actors to do that. A lot of them do talk about how they never saw any of their own movies but have attended premieres.

Yep, it sucks because those could have been amazing scenes. As they are they are barely even scenes.

I honestly thought the make up in the music video was better than the movie.

The make-up is the same, but the lighting and color grading are different. I agree it looks better.
