Same here.

I loved the way he said "Dr Quinzel.....I live for these moments you know. What you've got?"

Terrio isn't writing the Batman film.

I'd like them to change his look to something more eloquent and refined. The street thug aesthetic did not work for me, especially because it didn't inform the character at all and simply felt like change for the sake of it. I will never advocate making something aesthetically displeasing just 'cause. As for the way the character was portrayed, it's hard to say considering how much of the Joker material got cut from SS. It's possible that Leto did bring some nuance to the role, but all that was left in the film were his over-the-top Looney Tunes moments.

Seconded

With his short screen time and mixed reaction to his performance - I still felt like his character had more life and kinetic energy than 90% of the rest of the cast. Made them all really pale by comparison.

I didn't like his wobbly thing when he said "what do we have here?" Otherwise, I liked his performance.

It would lend itself to the creep factor. Also, it adds to dynamics of age... old man Joker removing his false teeth :hehe:

Heh, indeed. :hehe:

I think it could be an interesting scene to see him clash with Batman and suddenly remove his grills at one point shoving broken teeth. "Look what you've done Bats".

What a waste of common. I think he's a pretty good character and unless he asked to have a role in this no matter how small, why cast him. He's been pretty good in everything i've seen him in. In "Run All Night" he was more imposing than Leto a trained actor.

I enjoyed Leto's Joker and the dynamic reversal between him and Harley. But I don't understand why we get countless Batman origins scenes and they gloss over Harley and Joker's 1st meeting in Arkham and how he seduces/plays mind tricks with her a la Hannibal/Clarice? They treat it like we have seen it played out before, almost like a flashback from a previous film. I wonder if the scene wasn't on the paper or if it's just another casualtie of the editing?

It could be they were saving it, but they may have also wanted to give us the meat of their interactions. I liked the abrupt jump from "I need a shotgun" to the attack on Arkham. I wish that sequence had been longer - also liked how he took that scientist guys wife hostage.

We didn't get much, but I liked that they made Joker vicious enough. I saw that shamanism/Baptist preacher thing in his speech to Harley before the chemical bath. I would have liked them to keep the scenes where Harleen and her truckers chased down Joker. I don't think it was tone or anything that kept it out - the kids in the audience got an eyeful of Jokers strippers and an earful of **** and ***** lol

Leto sounds pretty down. I think he personally doesn't want to come back. I think Affleck will talk him into it.

Leto even said the scene with him laying with knives was heavily cut down.

Just saw some interviews with Jared Leto and he's clearly upset that they cut so many of his scenes. Really surprising he was so forthcoming, in one interview he clearly blames the studio.

He is right, but unprofessional. He's coming across as though he can't take the criticism and is looking to blame.

Just release the hour footage of Leto's Joker in the deleted scenes. Maybe someone can make a nice fan vid out of it. Can judge his Joker better.

They're still putting new Joker footage in the TV spots?

Jesus Christ. :funny:

Leto's Joker is the first to truly break the fourth wall: more of him has escaped into our world than is in the movie.

Have you had a chance to see it yet, regwec?

no, this is in the movie.

the quality is from a harley/joker centric spot i saw on youtube. you can basically see the entirety of their interaction in arkham before his breakout.
