She was horrible as June Moon. However, I thought she was ok to good as the creepy witch version of Enchantress. Its when she transforms again that sort of loses me. Then again thats more so what they had her doing. I thought she did well with the dream sequence...bout it in that form.

The direction Ayer went was really bad.. third act looked like something inspired by Hellboy movie.

Edit: It would have been better if Enchantress was not the main villain of this but simply a character who supported some other main villain, and I would have left out her brother (Inccubus) from the movie altogether.

Another shot I loved was when Harley jumps into chemical vat but Joker turns away and starts walking as if he doesn't care but then he realizes that he does which annoys him and despite one part of him not willing to save her he jumps to save her. Leto's mannerisms were perfect in showing what Joker's mind was going through.

So, take it as you will. I don't recommend you reading this crap though... or at least approach it as a parody. That way, it can be fun.

Yeah, that was too far in the wrong direction ("My name is Joker, but I'm not very funny." C'Mon now.) It seemed like it took the Dark Knight Returns Joker and pushed it too an extreme. But Miller take on Joker in the Last Crusade was extremely better (maybe that was due to Azzarello).



Some of the visuals really was on point. But some was unnecessarily overused (especially during the intro scenes), my other main complaint was with music.

The thing is though, if they do add those Joker scenes back to the movie the only thing it's really going to change about him is his characterization. His purpose in the story to rescue Harley will still be there but I think in the end it will still feel like his role is just a lead up to the solo Batman movie.

one of the most important aspects of a cinematic universe is that you want people to see the definitive version of the story being told on the big screen.

You don't want to put all the abusive relationship stuff in there? Then tell the director to not even film it. Don't tell the guy that he can't put that in there when the performances have already been delivered and the story has been established, because thats how you get uneven story telling and bad editing jobs. WB really does have cold feet a lot. Sometimes for good reason, but they really are their own worst enemy a lot of the time.

Marvel/Disney has proven their way of doing things works. They are very controlling before the movie and not afterwards like WB.

I should probably not continue this in the Joker thread. Its going to be interesting to see who they cast as Poison Ivy. Usually Ivy is hotter than Harley so its going to be very tough to outdo that now Margot's in the role.

Wonder if they ever touch on a love triangle.
