Aside from the shoes, I absolutely love the purple suit design.

He'll probably wear it at some point. This Joker's got a closet full of different stuff.

What's the name of these types of blazers Joker is wearing, by the way?

They have to have a name, if every single type of hat on this planet has a name, so must these jackets.

Why does the concept art always look better than the actual version? As great as Ledger was, I still prefer the look TDK's concept art would've given him.

Oh don't get me wrong. The acting is most important. Just saying Ivy being so beautiful made her even more seductive than Harley ever was.

However, with the backlash about Harley sexualized (even though I didn't get that vibe while watching the movie. Seemed she used it manipulate people) I totally get where you're coming from. Don't want to go through this again.
Are these people serious?

There was a slight backlash but I honestly have only heard positive things about Harley since the movie came out. Same goes for Deadshot and Batman.

I have no ****ing idea. Sometimes it baffles me as to how much better it looks than the final product, and this goes for almost ALL CBMs.

Good to know. But the people who complained about Harley fricking Quinn being sexy are loons. :loco:

She definitely looked sexy, but I was not a fan of how willing she was to beckon at Joker’s needs.

Joker literally asks for a machine gun and the next scene is his goons shooting Arkham up. The hell?

Virtually every Joker scene was cut down, chopped up, and sloppily edited with weird graphics inserted. It's so glaring and obvious, just as it's obvious that they weren't presented as David Ayer intended them to be.

- Each Joker "scene" seemed to last no longer than 1-2 minutes, with several bits lasting for a minute or less. Some were even mashed up into that music video-esque montage, and obviously, several were cut entirely to seemingly remove the abusive nature of his relationship with Harley and give them a happy ending together.

- In most of his bits, he only has something like 1-3 lines. A few examples:

1. "Where is she??" ... "Pull the car around."
2. "Oh, we've got company!"
3. "Well, what do we have here!"..."I'm not gonna kill ya. I'm just gonna hurt ya..." (There was obviously a chunck cut out of this scene)
4. "Blah blah blah...all of that chit chat's gonna getcha hurt."..."I can tell you meant that."..."You gonna be my friend?" (At least one line was cut here, possibly more)
5. No more than 2 lines in the Arkham therapy scene, as far as I can remember. There must have been more to it, but they only left in the bare minimum amount of dialogue needed before being able to move on to the next "scene" in the montage.
6. He said something like 4-5 sentences in the chemical bath scene. A chunk of the scene itself seems to be missing along with the Joker/Harley scenes that were originally meant to precede it (Harley chasing him down, Joker slapping Harley, deciding to bring her to where he was "born", etc)
7. Same goes for the helicopter rescue. Couldn't have been more than 4-6 lines there.
8. Just one sentence (consisting of 4 words) in his final scene with Harley

- Getting back to the editing, I think his longest scene (which was part of a ****ing montage) was in the club with Common, and The Joker shooting Common was neutered with those weird, colorful graphics that would turn the screen purple (like in the electro shock scene) or sepia in the case of the club scene. Anyone with a brain can recognize that those graphics and the use of quick/frenetic jump cuts were inserted to hide that fact that those scenes were gutted and/or censored to make them less intense and violent.

- Those awful soundtrack songs seemed to play over a couple of his "key" moments like the club scene and chemical bath scene, which automatically kills the tension and atmosphere of those scenes -- especially the chemical bath scene. Can you imagine if Nolan had decided to have a pop song playing while The Joker speaks to Rachel at the party in TDK? Lol

- The brief conversation between Harley and The Joker on the helicopter was almost certainly from the reshoots, after they decided to retool the Harley/Joker relationship and remove all potentially controversial elements.

And this is only for The Joker scenes! The editing and retooling of the film affected many more characters and things beyond the Harley/Joker stuff. The editing in the BvS theatrical cut was choppy and all over the place, but this is like a master class in how to NOT edit and **** with a movie so late in the game.

I prefer Ledger's design to that concept art.

Yeah, big time. Was never a fan of that concept art.

Reading all this... Leto never had the chance with this film.

Yup, especially in the torture scene. All of those quick seconds ("ehh?? wha??") were just taken from a scene that had DIALOGUE and pasted together so it looked like she was having a seizure or something. I gotta admit, the trailer company (and the three extra editors) did a good job of making the film semi-cohesive and coming up with ways to neuter the scenes but still leave them in.

the harley/joker helicopter scene is heavily ADR-ed, as two lines in particular stand out "You know I would do anything for you" and "It's you and me, baby". When you watch the movie in one go the shear volume of butchery is well hidden, but going scene for scene it's quite a sight to behold.

These days, if a woman even HINTS at the idea that she likes sex, she's just an awful sexist representation.

It's sad

Yeah, big time. Was never a fan of that concept art.

To each their own. I find it pretty haunting, plus he had shorter hair/permawhite skin, giving him more similarities to the comic book version.

I prefer both of the final designs we got for the Jokers as opposed to the concept art but imo, in generalized terms, the concept art always look cooler and sleeker than what we got.

You're right, it's scary as ****, but I find Ledger's final design to be more visually pleasing.

It's too haunting. Those last two look like something out of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. The Joker doesn't need to look that grotesque.

As for the permawhite skin, it'd have been nice and all, but the makeup ultimately worked for the kind of Joker that Nolan and Ledger created.

Does anyone else wish that Leto was more of a pale white than the more yellowish white color he was in the film?

He's definitely pale. It just depends on the scene, lighting, editing

Yeah I noticed that, but the majority of the scenes he had a more yellowish glow to him, not the palest white that we're used to.

Seriously? I noticed that he sounded a bit different, almost as if he put all those words together. I'll pay attention to that scene when I get to watch it at home.

I always wanted them to go for more natural albino route instead of pure white, so I liked it.

What I didn't like is how inconsistent make-up team was at times though... they were way too heavy on the makeup in that last scene where Joker breaks into Belle Reve.

Man was his performance mangled hated every thing about his "gansta" look when it dropped now seeing the film I DESPISE IT

Leto is a great actor but he had nothing to work with here

Can't believe half the stuff showed in tv ads and trailers were not in the movie you see a tv spot without the "can't wait to show you my toys line"
but it wasn't in movie

my goodness the editing in this movie :csad:

Agreed. Worst Joker. Nothing to do but follow his girlfriend like desperate man lol.
