I like how he stands and waits when they first walk up to the door before they shoot the glass
I think this is amazing art but I'm glad the concept didn't get used. Imo, what we got with Heath's Joker was perfect for the characterization he brought.

You noticed that too? I thought I was the only one. Not only that, some scars would be missing in certain scenes etc. I thought makeup wise he looked best in the scene where he is convincing HarleyWhat I didn't like is how inconsistent make-up team was at times though... they were way too heavy on the makeup in that last scene where Joker breaks into Belle Reve.

Almost ghost like, so I have to believe it was a reshoot scene and possibly different makeup people because it looked a bit off. Same goes with the makeup for the music video, looked different and really cheap to a degree.to jump in the vat of chemicals
The Joker was meh. I estimate 60% of the problem was his overall pointlessness in the script, and the other 40% as Leto's performance being uninteresting. Perhaps all the interesting content was cut. hard to say.
I wouldn't demand a recast, but I expect more in the future. Sure as hell was no Ledger.
^Meh, just saw TDK on Spike earlier today, I prefer more aspects of Leto's performance

You're reaching dude.
You're reaching dude.
I do wonder how Leto would have done with 33 mins of screen time and with a script/direction by Nolan.
Needed to be reigned in a bit on certain scenes. Probably wouldn't be as good as Ledger, but likely much better than he was in this movie.

Agreed.I'm really not. I liked Ledger but especially after watching the movie again today I don't see why people act like he's so much better, it's ridiculous.![]()

It is characterization you're referring to with Leto, not performance itself, though.
I feel bad for Leto getting most of his performance cut, but from what little I saw of the Joker I do not care for his take on it. Everything from the tats, grills, clothes to the performance was uninteresting and even off-putting at times. Ledger had a great performance paired up with an iconic redesign.

Because he died. Ledger was great as the joker, but the level to which his performance is hyped up is ridiculous.
Are you talking to me? The performance reflected that weak characterization. He had nothing to work with other than pine for his Harley. He had no menacing moments, no stand out scenes, no iconic dialogue. No wow factor to him.
It was Joker with his balls cut off. As a result Leto's performance suffered for it.
