Can't disagree, but the main factors of contention (teeth and DAMAGED tattoo) are still there.

Why does the concept art always look better than the actual version? As great as Ledger was, I still prefer the look TDK's concept art would've given him.

leto's face in the right light looks positively skeleton-like with the white face, no eyebrows, dark eye-shadow and metal teeth. like it or not it's a striking image. particularly during the chemical wedding.

No matter what you thought of the actor or the performance I never saw "Leto" in the movie. Just wish the camera could have lingered on him for those "quieter moments"

It's a character tic. Ledger reasoned that the Joker would lick his lips because of discomfort from the scars.

It's like when you have a cut or cold sore on your lip. You feel compelled to massage it with your tongue in order to soothe it. Same basic idea.

I think this is amazing art but I'm glad the concept didn't get used. Imo, what we got with Heath's Joker was perfect for the characterization he brought.
