:wow:

Sounds like Leto at the end but perhaps that could have been taken from one of his countless interviews, or other films.

there is morse code in description, this is translation

LADIES AND GENTS BATS AND CLOWNS. WELCOME TO THE SHOW. I HAVE A MESSAGE I HAVE SOME FUN, AND SURELY YOU ALL WILL KNOW. AS TIME PROGRESSES MY MOUTH CONFESSES AND AMERICA WILL HEAR. SIT BAT RELAX AND GRAB A BEER.

What reports have there been that they're not real? Is there one from a single official source? Because if they're not real then why doesn't someone affiliated with the movie just says so after all this negativity? Especially if the intention was as this rumor claims to simply be a celebration of his 75th anniversary? Why are they keeping so silent about it?

None of it makes sense in the context of it being a 75th celebration stunt. They'd have said so in a statement with the pic's release, or afterward after all the backlash against the tattoos.

I want to start by saying that I don't buy the 75th celebration stunt thing.

That being said, the photo has generated a ton of free buzz and has a lot of people outside of the fan community talking. Even if the buzz is negative, it doesn't matter. The second they release a statement, everyone will be happy. They might as well ride out the free publicity. If they were to hit us with a new photo that looks more traditional and play the whole thing off as a big joke, it'd be in keeping with the theme of the character. Everyone that was upset would immediately be over it and WB would've pulled off a brilliant marketing strategy that no other studio was daring enough to try.

Again, I think the look is what we're getting. But it isn't outta the realm of possibility that this is just a ballsy marketing strategy.

Yep! Just decoded that.
Could be trolling. So deliberate.. A whole account for whatever this is. The last vid was posted 5 hours ago.

This is WB we're talking about though. Remember the incredible worldwide viral marketing campaign they had for the Joker and TDK in general? The huge amount of positive buzz and interest it generated. I can't see the same movie company trying to generate a buzz on a negative basis, especially when they know their new Joker is going to be in the shadow of Ledger's in the sense that all the fans, audiences and critics will be comparing Leto to Heath's monumental portrayal. So to try and promote him negatively would be a stupid mistake to make.

What you're suggesting is possible, but VERY unlikely, IMO.

It's still pretty cool.. I love that creeper music lol.

I don't really mind the pic Leto posted of his physique. It's not like he's gonna look like Bane in the suit. We got limping Joker with Heath, now we get a Joker who takes care of his body. He had plenty of time to bulk up in prison.

why it is obivosly fake? that is Jared's laugh for sure... I don't know.

as

always

I want to believe :)

It's his laugh and it's been taken from the movie Mr. Nobody. We've gone through this umpteen times now.

He's not even that big. Looks no heavier than 11 stone (about 160 pounds). He's just shredded so he looks big.

of course I compared it and it is not.

It really is, but they've altered it with sound effects.

Jerome the Joker? I mean seriously? The name 'Jerome' was featured in the TV show Gotham and this is clearly someone that put the two together and came up with this horrible idea to sucker people in.

From what everyone else said, it was just something for the 75th anniversary of the character and not what he'll look like in the movie. Whatever, I'll wait for confirmation on that.

Based on the Joker picture, it's a different take and I like it to an extent. Hopefully they nail the characterization. It seems they took a Max Cady approach from the Cape Fear remake with the tattoos, although instead of tying into the motivations of the character, they went a little too far. I like the teeth. It comes off as if Batman beat the crap out of him and almost crossed the line.

I compared it again closely, it is, you guys are right... my bad :*

As far as I'm concerned this Jerome fella is doing a much better job of marketing the Joker than Leto :o

Leto needs to amp up the method pronto, more teasers!

is this real?

I understand disappointment when you expect one thing and get something that seems to be the complete opposite.

But remember it is just ONE PICTURE, we don't know how Leto's Joker will look once he is in full costume, and most importantly we don't know what his performance will be.

THAT is what will make or break his character...if he is amazing and blows the audience away with his performance then most people won't care if he's all tattooed up, or once they see the context of the character within the film the tattoos might suddenly make more sense.

But right now it's just a picture, so before announcing that Leto's Joker is going to suck, maybe we should just wait until we get something more substantial? Like a trailer or at the very least...a pic of Leto in costume?

I say this as someone who HATED the look of Heath's Ledger's Joker when I first saw the images. HATED it. Then when I saw his performance I was so blown away suddenly it didn't really bother me anymore that he wasn't perma-white. And now...I sort of like Ledger's look because his performance was so amazing it won me over to his interpretation of the character.

So while I can't say I'm in love with Leto's Joker look just by that one picture alone, this time...I'm going to wait and see his actual performance before I make any assumptions about the character.

Who knows?

A lot of people might end up changing their minds when the film comes out?

I'm optimistic because although some Jokers I like better then others...I haven't yet found one that I outright disliked, every version has their merits.
