Agreed, there is some real potential for some serious underwater horror here. Hope they dont skimp on the monsters and make them look horrible and cool. Of course even cooler is that Aquaman commands them!

But Cameron's too big in his britches for anything and any property not related to his frickin' Cat-Smurf-Indian Aliens or taking a dive to the Titanic.

Man...I used to love him back in the day; now, somebody could jetison him into the sun and I wouldn't care one bit. When he didn't do a follow-up to Aliens, I took that s**t personally.
