I'd vote Bigelow for Green Lantern. Hurt Locker had many elements of what I'd love to see tackled in a GLCorps movie. Point Break as well, come to think of it.

She'd never do it though, except maybe for the challenge/pride of 1up-ing her ex's sci-fi franchise.

I'm not so sure. I mean, probably. But I'd think there might be some interest in the bragging rights that being the first girl let into this boy's club would bring.

bigelow is an oscar winning director. the **** kinda logic goes into thinking "a woman should not direct wonder woman" when she's brought up in the conversation?

Yes, Bigelow is a great director.

But sometimes when people suggest Bigelow (a director without much of a recognizable style or filmography similar to WW) to direct WW, without any reasons why, I could see how it could come across as someone suggesting her over every other amazing director else simply because she's a woman.

That is my point though. Why doesn't anyone ever suggest Bigelow for other films? As soon it comes to Wonder Woman, people start saying that Bigelow should direct it, or Michelle MacLaren. It is just like like Lex Luthor, where people start spouting off bald actors.

I am not saying that a woman should absolutely not have the right to direct Wonder Woman, but lets be serious; Nobody would be suggesting a female director if it was not Wonder Woman. That is why I think it is forced.

I think Bigelow is a fantastic director, so I would love to see her direct a DCCU film. I think she would do an incredible GL. She can direct military.

Nah. Keep to the comics. Keep it fun. The Goyer 'let's make it realistic' is pretty stupid. His interview a while back where he said he would change Martian Manhunters name is pretty telling.

Who said anything about "grimdark"? Sorry, but for narritive and logistcal reasons there is a very good arguement to changing some stuff with Aquaman and the DC Atlanis mythos for a big screen live action film. Even the Timm JL shoe changed things, like the nature of the Atlantean cities. The undersea nature of the character and the practical difficulties inherent means that, to my thinking, Aquaman NEEDS to do some things different from the comic, as opposed to say Wonder Woman, which could be done in a manner with far less alterations. (Alterations by the way HAVE occured for EVERY comic book property brought to the big screen, AM aint' gonna be immune. Look at Thor. It sure is not a totally faithful adaptation, but considering the high hurdle for success, I'd say they pulled it off with that character with flying colors, even with the, IMHO lackluster TDW srquel. )

Kathryn Bigelow would be a stellar choice to direct a CBM, period. If they could rope her in for WW, that would be a stroke of genius.

I'd like to see what Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) could/would do with a CBM. For that matter, Gareth Edwards, too.

That sounds very sexiat. I think a woman like Kathryn Bigelow could add a womans perspective on a film about an Amazon. Simething that would be lacking if it were a male director. Plus, Bigelow comes with an Academy award winning pedigree.

I agree with this...the best person for the job should get it regardless of race or sex.

i'd prefer blomkamp for the flash. mainly cause i really really really want sharlto copley to play thawne. but if that flash/gl team up comes through, that's not really a problem.

But I reckon anything involving space and other planets would be right up his alley. Elysium, whether you like it or dislike it, had some stunning CGI... as did District 9 for that matter.

Elysium scared the hell out of me. I didn't even think the directing in that film was anything to write home about. I'd give him a go though, I don't throw directors away because of one film that didn't work.
