He did just not those exact words. He said how annoying it was for him to be connected to this superhero particularly.

I know it most likely is a "wink wink" "nudge nudge" but in the mean time he is perpetuating the image that AM is "lame."

I remember that. So many "uh"s! Now that doesn't seem like he's dissing the character at all. He was just echoing what a lot of the fans who were told he would play AquaMomoa thought.

Please find a quote or a link to when he has been disrespectful to the character then.

The link that I posted at the top is him merely suggesting that he doesn't fit the look of the classic Aquaman character. He's not being disrespectful at all.

This could have been before he was convinced otherwise and told about a new direction for the character.

That's the one.

Notice how everything I said was true. He doesn't know how he and AM could be in the same sentence in more or less words. He compares him to Robin in a derogatory way. What aren't you seeing?

I'm not trying to take a shot at the guy but that is a little disrespectful if he is actually playing him.

Maybe you're right but you really think that he doesn't know what hair dye or a wig is? It seems to me like he was doing a slight dig like "how can anyone ever think of me as HIM!" Again I think it's just an elaborate red haring anyway.

That's incredibly naive if you think that slapping a wig on or dying his hair just means that he would look like the character.

I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that.

No... there isn't because as many have pointed out he does look quite similar to some iterations of the character. It's not niave it's just a deduction based on the facts. A simple google search shows Aquaman with a mane-like hair and a hook for a hand. I mean he's an actor he is supposed to become a character not the other way around...

I never said Momoa didn't look like him. I was simply questioning your post when you said:

To me, you were suggesting that all he had to do was get a wig or dye his hair and that was the problem solved.

Yeah agreed. People that see him being disrespectful are looking too much into his comments. They're seeing what they want to see.

Well said and point taken, but WB will still have to manage the problem of all of the positive publicity casting Momoa in the role being for naught if he's playing another character.

Regardless, I'm still 90% certain he is the new Aquaman, but I don't find WB's lack of confirmation as a means of building suspense and anticiptation so much as it is a missed opportunity and a point of frustration for fans.

Not a big deal at all to me. All signs are pointing to Momoa being Aquaman and I'm cool with it.

WB's can make the official announcement when they are good and ready.
