BvS Jason Momoa is Aquaman! - Part 3

All those costumes posted above looked far too 90's xtreem and sinister.

There's nothing wrong with Aquaman's look as is.

Most likely, Regwec. We'll see Mamoa in the costume walking and talking like Aquaman and all will be forgotten. Just strange trying to imagine the visual of the JL standing in a circle discussing a plan of action and all of them [who actually have hair showing] have dark hair. Unless we get a ginger GL. ;

I don't see why you all can't imagine them lightening his hair in some way...I mean Hollywood hair and makeup people are wizards and could make him look great as a dirty blonde or even with major blonde streaks of some sort. I have complete confidence in their vision.

I wonder how they'd do the Atlanteans talking with each other while underwater. Will it be telepathic conversations? Can they explain that they have special hearing? I still cant figure out how to do it properly in live action. There's no problem with it in the comics or animated movies like Little Mermaid or Finding Nemo, will talking normally underwater be a problem in a serious live action superhero movie?

Well, they may have more time to figure that out - I don't think we'll see much of other Atlanteans in BvS, but we will in JL most likely.

Nothing would delight me more than to see his hair lightened but, to be fair, our discussion was in reaction to the concept art posted in which he has jet black hair so you can perhaps understand where we have arrived at the conclusion that Momoa wont get a dye job or highlights?

Things can change though, so I live in hope (seen some really good manips of Mamoa with blonde her too, no reason why it couldnt actually work). As I said before, its just my own personal preference as a dark haired Aquaman is alien to me. Its not a deal breaker 'im boycotting this movie or else' kind of thing. Far from it.

Fair enough. I'd prefer a lighter haired Aquamoa as well, but they may be able to effectively maintain Jason's natural color...hope we get a photo release of the entire cast at some point before the opening of the film. They may want to keep those other JL characters' looks a surprise for BvS though... sometimes the anticipation just hurts! :csad:

Well, it's already known that Aquaman can communicate and control telepathically fish and other sea creatures, it's not a stretch to assume that all Atlanteans also have a similar telepathic ability to be able to communicate withj each other outside the dome.

The more I think about Aquaman the more I see him as a bad idea, but if they can make him work in this movie and movies to come then fine.

Given the 300 writer, and the Snyder connection, I wonder if Noam Murro will direct with Snyder producing.

Also, would love to see this, but with Aquaman and his trident.

Also, they need to get WETA Digital to do the Atlantis sequences. If they're on the same level as Krypton in MOS, it's going to look incredible.

Don't Warners keep using Sony Image Works for their Superhero films? *sigh* I wish they wouldn't, Green Lantern looked awful.

Just GL, Superman Returns, and Watchmen. They weren't involved with MOS or The Dark Knight Trilogy.

WETA Digital (Krypton sequences)
Double Negative
MPC
Scanline VFX

Just to name a few. An FX artist from WETA has confirmed they are working on BVS.

Yeah, I've been a WETA Worshiper ever since the Fellowship of the Ring.

My question is how are they gonna execute people talking underwater? I wonder how it would look.

Telepathy, I guess. And since Momoa's strengths as an actor lie in him saying as little as possible, it could really work, lol.

I love Jason Momoa to an extent that is likely quite inappropriate for one man to love another man who he has never met, but his casting concerns me. It feels like overcompensation to me.

"Aw man, Aquaman is/people think Aquaman is so lame. We better cast the most badass and traditionally masculine popular actor currently working in film and television anywhere in the world."

The guy's a talent, that can't be denied, but I'm really concerned that his casting means that they'll go so overboard in making Aquaman "badass" that it will come off as comical.

Is Momoa popular? I think interest him only became widespread since he was linked to the Aquaman role. I wouldn't call him popular. Even on GoT he died within the first season and his try at a leading man Hollywood tentpole tanked at the box office.
