Oh they are having a **** load of fun with this.

I’m so in. Pure mindless fun and not taking itself overly serious. It knows what it is. This is like Deep Blue Sea meets Piranha. This should be a good time.

This doesn't look as bad as I expected even though the music choice was pretty awful IMO. Not a big fan of that poster either, but it does look like it could be a really entertaining creature feature. I definitely got Deep Blue Sea and Piranha 3D vibes from the trailer which makes it even more unfortunate that it isn't rated R. I would have loved to see what Eli Roth would have done with this.

The music was obviously a little jab at Finding Nemo.

As far as it being R, I think with Jaws being PG as are all the Jurassic Parks being PG13, it'll get its point across.

Look, I'm not going to be the kind of guy who tries to pick at logic issues regarding a movie about a giant shark, but I am definitely the guy who points out that "The Meg" is a stupid-sounding title.

That takes quite a few liberties with the book but it still looks close enough and definitely light enough not to be a Jaws rehash to be entertaining.

Is it wrong that I want Jason Statham to die in the middle of this like Sam Jackson, and it’s Cliff Curtis who is the hero?

It's what he deserves for what he did to Han. :o

I will check it out. Not quite sure how I feel about some of the changes. The shark does look good though.

My God, it's a Megalodon.

this will be 2018 meme

The trailer is all over the place tonally but it looks like a lot of fun to me, I love a shark movie. :D

The trailer is kind of a mess, but that damn shark is hooge.

Trying to place my finger on why the marketing feels weird.
It's going to be one of those creature feature comedies. Haven't seen one since Zombeavers

Some people don't seem to like the tonal shift in the trailer.

The scene choices don't fit. All the tense shark moments are being overlayed with some retro feel good 'The Shape of Water' track.

*From the director that brought you 3 Ninjas...3 Nicholas Cage movies...and the Rush Hour...tv pilot...comes...*

Is it just me or did the size of the shark look inconsistent at times? Unless there are some other smaller sharks in there.

Also, that shark better eat lots of hapless victims. Like this should be like that scene in Jurassic World where the assistant gets eaten on steroids and even more mean spirited :D

What? It's a giant freaking shark movie! This is why we want to see a movie like this!

Regardless, still want to see this. Sort of looks a lot like Deep Blue Sea, but that could be a good thing.

IMHO, the trailer wasn't great but it still has enough it that makes me really want to see it. I mean it's Jason Statham in a giant shark movie.

Oh my gosh. I’m in love. This is exactly the type of movie I love.

And it has giant squids! More movies need giant squids

If that was nemo he can just stay lost thank you very much!

I bet the next trailer has a shadowy government individual saying something like “we have to capture it alive” or something. Like they’re going to send a megaladon into North Korea or something

I loved the Scene with The Archttheutis Dux at most , i hope we see many other Huge Seacreatures like that
