There is another shot of her hiding behind a wall, or at least I think that's what she is doing, it's a close up shot

I don't want to join the Lawrence Hate Train and this isn't so much about her but man I am so over the naked blue scaled slicked back red hair Mystique. Can we put some clothes on her or at least give her a different hairstyle already?

They literally do that (new costume) in this film in the newest trailer it's even the thumbnail for the trailer.

Haha I know, they literally showed exactly that in the trailer... People here are so crazy on Mystique. I'm glad they finally gave her a costume, and agreed with whoever said it might be a way to keep Jennifer Lawrence around, if the costume cuts down on the amount of makeup. I always thought it was weird Mystique was naked all the time anyways, so I'm all for the costume.

On a different subject, surprised they didn't have any Mystique acrobatic fight scenes in the trailer. I wonder who she'll face off with? I assumed it'd be Psylocke since they have similar fighting styles, but looks like Beast is the one who takes her on (at least in the trailer anyways).

the scene where mystique is giving the xmen speech seems like the very end of the movie where we see quicksilver in his new suit and see all the x men in the classic yellow and blue suits like the jean grey one which will lead to bald xavier opening the doors in the x basement and hopefully say "to me my xmen" and cut to black

I fear thats the case.

And I don't want Mystique and Quicksilver as members of the X-Men

On a different subject, surprised they didn't have any Mystique acrobatic fight scenes in the trailer. I wonder who she'll face off with? I assumed it'd be Psylocke since they have similar fighting styles, but looks like Beast is the one who takes her on (at least in the trailer anyways).

Yeah, part of my Mystique fandom is because of those acrobatic fight scenes. For me, they've always been highlights in the action department of the X-movies. I understand we didn't get something in FC, but DOFP made up for that.

Mystique vs Psylocke seemed a given (and maybe we'll still get some), but they went for Beast vs Psylocke. She could go for Magneto together with Quicksilver.

Based on the trailer, I think her fight scene will be with Apocalypse. I think she'll be the distraction and right before she gets choked, Charles and Moira do something to defeat Apocalypse.

Like, "While you powerhouses, Jean and Cyclops, fight the henchmen, I'll go for Apocalypse and do some awesome kicks and punches. We'll definitely win this battle!"

Mystique going after Apocalypse with some acrobatic combat is probably going to be as hilarious as that joke cliche of the "kung-fu" fighter throwing moves around til he gets beaten in one swoop.

I do hope she ends up 1v1-ing Psylocke.

In other news I don't think anyone has ever mentioned before... is anyone else disappointment we didn't get an actual ravened haired Raven. Mystique when in her normal female human guise in the comics was normally very dark haired I wonder why they made it blonde.

I think its a little obvious for 'Raven' to be raven haired. Pretty heavy handed. But it's a comic book movie with precedent so XD

You can rationalise it by saying that being a blonde was the human ideal for Mystique, having had to rationalise the human norms and stereotypes while growing up with Charles. That she kept going back to that guise is more to do with habit than anything.

If the producers want to keep both JLaw and the Mystique character in future X-Men movies without JLaw having to go through the makeup process, I think the solution would be to recast "Mystique" and introduce JLaw as another character. She could be introduced as Carol Danvers (aka Miss Marvel) and insert a story arc in the past where both Raven and Carol were friends when they were young, perhaps Carol was captured by Trask and Raven failed to rescue her and assumed she had died. Raven took the image of Carol to remember their friendship, Carol Danvers reappears (played by Lawrence) as an adversary working for Trask or Stryker influenced by the same serum used in X2.

Rogue can then be inserted into the story (I nominate Chloe Grace Moretz). Between XMA and XM7, Mystique fosters Rogue and raises her after she ran away from home. Sometime in XM7, Carol Danvers searches for Mystique to capture her on behalf of Trask/Stryker and the battle between Mystique and Carol is where Rogue comes in to help and in the process takes Carol's powers to become the strong and powerful Rogue that we know her (not the depressed runaway in X1-X3). I think a story like this would satisfy everyone, recast a new actress for Mystique who'd be willing to always be in blue makeup, keep JLaw as Miss Marvel for future movies and finally give Rogue the power of strength and flight.

You know carol rights belong to marvel studios. And there's rumour circulating online that Jlaw has secretly been casted as carol, and marvel might been wait for the right time to announce it, maybe after apocalypse finished it run on theatres which mean the end of Jlaw's contract with mystique character.
I would still watch X-Men Apocalypse despite i don't like how they made KatMystique tha main character. Every time she talks in the trailer, we heard katniss voice. And also perhaps the remarks of her disguise as stryker when she rescued wolverine in the end of DOFP will probably gonna be left out. Because it sort hinting of Wolverine might become an horsemen because mystique offering him to apocalypse, but fox exec might have singer scrap that idea.

i think that was more fan speculation then what they were really aiming for because

1. they originally thought about having xavier and hank save him before deciding to make it mystique

2. they decided to make it mystique because they thought it would feel full circle with her saving the mutants in the camp at the start and then her saving wolverine at the end to show she is still saving mutants

3. he wakes up in the 80s here, that was 1973 so unless we believe apocalypse was gonna be hanging around for 10 building up a plan it was probably unlikely

Great design that pays homage to her most classic looks in one uniform.

I'm so loving what I can see of this costume it looks like a big step in the right direction. I'm wondering though them giving her an actual costume is she staying on as a mentor or to be an actual XMan. I have mentioned the raven haired thing before but I think it got overlooked by other stuff.

Nice homage to their comic costumes: Mystique's halter top, Quicksilver's (what appears to be) lightning costume, and Jean's Jim Lee yellow and blue TAS get-up.

Still hoping for briefs for Beast

Unfortunately the material looks cheap. Same thing with Negasonic's costume. Cheap materials. The X-men's here look like it's made out of sack. And the various parts clash in design, especially the shoulder pads. Mystique also looks like a priest. *sigh*

The shots of Mystique being choked are clearly out of sequence. Seeing as how she's clearly almost dead and hanging limply in one shot, then choking again in the next. I have no idea what you all mean by "disengaged". What does that even mean?
