Even though he then asked them all to join him after charles was shot? so really he didn't just have his eye on her, in the end he wasn't grooming her through out the film, there were scenes where he said some stuff to her to stop hiding but there was no sense of he was secretly grooming her so when it came to it she would be all over him and he could take her away because he wouldn't really know if she would walk away from charles for him

i think its just because we know she went with him in FC and the way mystique was always with magneto in the OT thats its easy to forget that

That's a fair point and I didn't take that in consideration.

Then it must be one of three things:

(1) Magneto must be an idiot if he thinks that people he barely evens knows would join his cause, mere minutes after he attacked them;
(2) or Magneto must think Beast, Banshee and Havok are idiots;
(3) or bad writing.

:oldrazz:

I think there was some sort of grooming of Raven going on. After all it's curious that Magneto really only imparted lessons to Raven, amongst that group.

I think once Magneto saw Mystique on his bed he knew he had her.

Angel, Azazel, and Emma Frost did join him; mere minutes after an attack.

Don't forget...he's not just asking them to join him after Charles was shot...but after the worlds' militaries tried to eradicate them.

Then they are idiots :woot:

I would hope the potential X-men would be more intelligent than that. And them not joining him proves they are.

Lol I feel like they aligned themselves with who killed their old leader. Not to mention most of them weren't apposed to the mutants vs humans thing.

Or:

(5) He asked them to join them mere minutes after the US and USSR, two hated rivals, just teamed up SOLELY to eradicate them (mutants) and thus seemingly proved what Magneto and Shaw had been saying about humans to be true. So it's not hard to buy.

Please do a spinoff. Jennifer can carry a film and its great way to introduce Destiny. Mystique can do anything this has way more potential then Black Widow or Ms. Marvel and I actually wanna see those movies. Spider-Woman too

I'd only take a spin-off if it includes Jen and Rebecca.

Mystique spinoff would definitely be a movie I wouldn't go to see in theaters.

i dont know how I feel about a Mystique spin off she has already gotten alot of exposure already in the movies as it is, Id rather they focus on another mutant. the only way Id be for it is if Rebecca Romjin was in it, no offense to JLaw because I think she is a great actress just as Mystique I prefer Rebecca. DOFP may change my mind.

Preach it! :bow: But I agree though, DOFP may change my mind too.

Blue is the Hottest Color

For most of her scenes as blue-skinned Mystique, Lawrence donned a head-to-toe spandex bodysuit with puff-paint pieces applied on top for a scaly, 3-D effect. She still received full-body airbrushing (as she did for X-Men: First Class) for some close-up shots, but Mingenbach says the bodysuit, "cut down her time in the makeup chair by five or six hours."
Mystique Goes Mod

The American Hustle star embraced the period looks of the '70s-era Mystique, particularly the femme-fatale-inspired halter-top and hot-pants combo, with a suede coat ringed with a white Mongolian fur collar. The custom outerwear cost $4,000. Mingenbach found the oversize hammered-brass buckle at an LA flea market. Lawrence even got into the '70s vibe by going braless in her period duds.
I never would have guessed the above outfit cost as much as $4,000.

I like that she is getting into character, im thinking this may be a good Mystique perfomance.

Even though that shot is crazy photoshopped she look's really good.

They really should stop informing people she's wearing a bodysuit. It just invites people to look closely at the pic and look for the creases and where the suit ends and the body paint starts.

Yeah they should have left that info for the DVD/Blue-ray cometary.

I'll have to disagree. Mystique is not a strong enough character for a solo film, nor is she as popular.

Yeah, although I love JLaw, Mystique to me can only be a supporting character, and just because she is played by an Oscar winner it doesn't mean she has enough depth to headline the movie by herself. In fact, aside from Wolverine, I don't really think any X-Men can have a solo movie, with the possible exception of Magneto and only because he is played by Michael Fassbender and he can be an anti-hero instead of a villain, but even then it'd be a hard sell.

Btw, I'm not sure if a Deadpool movie could work, either.
