atleast show the Flying Graysons perform in Gotham in BB3. atleast. no robin, no dick specifically. but Flying Graysons.
That depends on which interpretation of Robin they use. If it's the bright, giddy, 60s version, of course it wouldn't fit. But that version will probably never make it into any film. What would work wonderfully is an interpretation more like the current Robin; dark, serious (in both costume and personality), charged with a lot of pain and personal loss, with a personality that mirrors Batman`s only without the severe obsessions.Who knows if they will even make a BB4. Even though Nolan says he flat out doesn't know right now, I'm sure he and Bale will eventually return for the third act in a few years.
Anyways, because the focus of the Nolan series is strictly about the development of Batman and the dark, noirish setting that is his home of Gotham City, Robin doesn't really fit. Nevertheless, they should still make a reference to Robin at the end of BB3 like I said before.
Really as it stands, I don't care what they have on paper, the character of Batman by himself is going to get stale after two films. That's kind of the corner Nolan is backing himself into right now. He might not think this way, but everyone who sees Batman secretly in the back of their minds is wondering when Robin is going to show up. It's hard not to, because, well their relationship is so central to the story. You can't just have Batman alone, for three films, alienating the world around him. Sure you can introduce new villains, but ultimately, that's not going to keep the story very fresh, and slowly you're going to run out of ideas. Once you've covered the Joker, and set up villains like Two-Face and the Penguin, and created the world of freaks and darkness Batman lives in, you actually have to move on with the character.
I think this shows that LOEB, being in comics himself knows a lot more about comicbook characters than some FASCIST filmmaker ever could....
they could do a dark version of Robin, but the studio is afraid that ROBIN AUTOMATICALLY MEANS SCHUMACHER WORLD....
it doesn't....
NOLAN's MOVIES WON'T BE BATMAN unless he gives us a faithful, dark, disturbed ROBIN
Are you saying you want an R-rated Batman film? Because any Batman story* can be told without it being R-ratedso why can't we have a nolan batman with a robin who balances him out ?
he can still be angrier, but Robin can be pretty dark angry too (OKAY SO NOT FM angry)
i think the problem is that THE ONLY REASON THESE MOVIES ARE RATED pg13 is because ultimately BATMAN (as well as all comics) are seen as for children....
WE NEED 1 movie where the interpretation of Batman and Robin would be so "ADULT" (not pornographic) that parents wouldn't want to associate their children w/ superheroes
BECAUSE I KNOW ALL OF YOU FANBOYS HAVE READ @ least one comic in your life.... do you honestly think they are for KIDS?????
WHAT's SO WRONG w/ making THE DARK KNIGHT less accessable ?????
i think a lot of batstories could easily be rated R.... especially the ones dealing w/ pedophelia and more adult themes...
one example of an adult themed story ARKHAM ASYLUM
i guess my overall point is that the studios & the filmmakers need to get away fromthe idea that it's okay to take your kids to a batman movie.... BUT THEYT WON't BECAUSE TOYS, etc. generate too much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
no one ever took their 8 year old to a Freddy Krueger film (@ least no responsible parent)
WHY IS IT EVERYTIME I GO TO A BATFILM, ENTIRE FAMILIES ARE IN THE THEATER?
