I said Rebels is not nearly as good as Clone Wars and when you contested that I showed you that viewership of Rebels is only a fifth of what it was for Clone Wars (and falling!)

Clone Wars was on Cartoon Network. Rebels is on Disney XD. Disney XD is in less homes than Cartoon Network. Cartoon Network is a more established network. The TV ratings on Disney XD have never been that impressive. The highest rated shows on there have never done numbers comparable to the biggest shows on Cartoon Network. It's a lower rated network. However, lack of ratings doesn't mean it's a lower quality show. The show has obviously been a success and is about to run for its fourth season. Clone Wars was on for six seasons and had a good run. It could've continued I suppose, but it was a midquel TV show and the ending was already there in Revenge of the Sith.

Also not everyone loved Clone Wars either, so it was hardly a tragedy to everyone it went away. Not to mention, Rebels continued the storylines of many of the original characters introduced in Clone Wars.

Now, as far as topic...I'm ok with JJ. I'd rather have an idea of what we're getting as opposed to winding up with a terrible final chapter.

I will always be sad about TCW because they had some of the most promising arcs coming up. Especially with Ventress and Ahsoka. I wasn't even really an Ahsoka fan, but I would have loved to see where her arc was going.

IDK...they basically finished her arc really didn't they? Sure, they could have delved deeper, but we at least got general explanations why she wasn't around for Order 66, and it made her popping up in Rebels all the more interesting.

Nah, not close. And we know some of the details because they have released them. I mean it works the way it went, but the material seemed really promising imo.

I am one of those people that loves both TCW and Rebels. I prefer Rebels slightly, but that is definitely a personal preference.

Who knows? Maybe you'll get an Ashoka stand alone to fill in the gaps buddy. I think that's less and less likely the way it seems Disney is playing it safe with the SW property which is such a shame. I thought the stand alone films were so they could Branch out and take some more chances. But if they're having a hard time getting fan favorites like Obi Wan and Bobba Fett made, the chance of an Ashoka film seems almost impossible.

Also, the ending and/or later seasons of Lost have absolutely nothing to do with this thread or board, since J.J. Abrams had absolutely nothing to do with those things. Let's get back to topic, people.

Grootster and NealKenneth, you've made your feelings on the matter perfectly clear, REPEATEDLY. You're not being bullied, you're being called out for the repetitive nature of your posts that haven't contributed anything new to the discussion in a while. The reason some people see that as trolling is because after a while, the posts seem to only exist to rile people up, since they don't do anything else. That's why C.Lee deleted a boatload of posts yesterday, because they took the discussion nowhere. I don't believe you're meaning to troll, so please find a new tune or move on.

As I said earlier in the thread, I love this. Glad JJ is back to finish out this new trilogy. He mad my 2nd favorite Star Wars film. So I'm 100% behind him being back and looking forward to it.

I'm no fan of JJ Abrams, and I'm not much of a fan of the Star Wars brand (as some of the posters in this thread witnessed through the years), your comment on killing the franchise is just not compelling.

It's a smart move on their part for sure. I know all the firings and behind the scenes turmoil has been making some fans nervous. What better way to assuage their fears than bring back someone that's already knocked one out of the park? Unless they could have come up with some TRULY inspired choice, I think this is the best thing that could have happened. IDK who that inspired choice could have been, but I think right now what the brand needed was some stability brought back to it. This move certainly satisfies that requirement.

Just need to chime in and say TCW had the best lightsaber battle ever. Ever! It was the last season before the lost season. The Emperor versus Maul and his brother. Awesome stuff.

Right, but my point is Obi Wan is JUST getting off the ground, and Trank losing his **** shouldn't have delayed a Fett movie this long. And I'd imagine an Ashoka film is pretty far down the list of what they consider important characters.

They delayed Boba Fett and moved up Han Solo. They weren't going to do two that year.

Also almost 3 years does seem like plenty of time for Obi-Wan in 2020.

The only ACTUALLY interesting Rebels episodes are the season premieres and finales. All the stuff inbetween is goofy and boring. Not that I expect more from an animated show on Disney XD. Oh, we gotta get this **** from the Empire. Surprise, the Empire is incompetent. Next episode, same thing happens.

I think it would be more fair to say, that the episodes which revolve around on going arcs are by far more interesting. I personally really like the Mandalore stuff every time it comes up. I really liked everything surrounding Ashoka, Vader and the Inquisitors in season 2. In season 1, the Jedi Path I always really liked.

There are filler episodes each season for sure. But I wouldn't just say the premieres and finales are the only good episodes. There's stuff in between that is good that isn't just filler. Like Darth said, stuff that involves with ongoing arcs.

The seasons are too long. When you have 22 episodes a season you're going to get filler.

Going more and more OT, but I just hate the way Rebels has portrayed Manadalorians. Mandalorians in Rebels are a rational, reasonable people who would prefer peace over any other option. I mean next thing they will tell us is Mandalorians are all vegan and wear Birkenstock shoes. It is impossible to imagine Boba Fett coming from this kind of society. Mandalorians should be the space equivalent of Spartans -- a ruthless, cunning, warlike people who fight as much among themselves as they do other races. Boba Fett, Pre Viszla, and Bo Katan are good examples of what Mandalorians should be, not hippy trippy Sabine Wren and her mother Ursa. Not sure why Rebels has decided to go in this direction.

It's to rationalize why Sabine was even on their team in the first place. If she acted like Fett she'd be trying to backstab them constantly. I'm starting to think some of their factions were the exception and not the rule.
