I didn't know that Chapter 2 was divisive. I liked it. And I just got back from Chapter 3 and I liked it too. Although I do think it's the worst one. They pretty much go in order for me 1, 2, 3.

I am a bit worried about the franchise though. Haven't they basically said that will go on basically until the wheels fall off? I think that's a poor way to run a franchise. Especially when these are so serialized.

They actually said that they’ll just keep it going until the wheels fall off? If so then yeah, this thing is going to get tired and played out soon. I would argue that it nearly has.

Chapter 4 needs to be the last one. The novelty of this is going to get old if they just keep churning these out nonstop. There needs to be a narrative end to this. I love love love crazy, bonkers, over the top well choreographed action as much the next junkie but even that will get old if they just keep beating that drum over and over. Go out with a bang, its already managed to break the third movie curse.

Pretty much
'John Wick' Director, Stars Think the Film Series Could Go On for Another 10 Years
Probably in 10 years, John Wick would still be going. You never know, Keanu might be running the [Continental] hotel and everything by then... The world of John Wick is being explored in the next one. That will be more about the High Table, you find out more about him, his background, whatever. Preparing for who knows what the hell will happen next time. It gets bigger. I think you'll enjoy that too."
-Ian McShane

“I enjoy making these movies because there’s no limit," he told Entertainment Weekly during post-production on Parabellum. "We create our own mythology, and we have a studio that both stays out of our way and supports us on the wacky decisions. If people go see the movie, and it makes money, and they came back to us, Keanu and I have ideas for days. I could live here for the rest of my career. If people like it and want to watch more, I could think of way worse ways to spend your career. But, you know, we’re in the entertainment business. We’ll let the audience figure that out.”
-Chad Stahelski

Honestly I think that the climax of Parabellum could've been it's own movie
The whole New York vs The High Table "skirmish" or war. That would've been really good thing to explore for a whole feature
and then have what they're setting up Chapter 4 to be and have that be the 5th and final installment.

I agree with going out on top. And having some sort of narrative end.
I would love for Stahelski to get his hands on something other than John Wick. I 'd love to see what he can do
And they can keep movies set in the John Wick universe. They apparently are working on a Continental TV Series. But there are a lot of different avenues they can take in the unvierse other than just the JOhn Wick story

The next movie should just feature John killing everyone else in the world.

They are so good at making them, 3 great movies, no shortage of new ideas to do and people and critics love them, the actors are having fun. I hope they make dozens of these :D

Agreed, John deserves to have a conclusion, one way or another they have a chance to go out on top. However as there was never a plan to make more than 1 of these anyway, its not like a book adaptation or a pre-planned trilogy or anything they are sort of just winging it from chapter 2 on, which is fine while things are good but it will be sad if it turns into something that "used to be good" and has now been run into the ground, its almost like they are waiting for a dud to give them a reason to stop which is a shame.

Having just rewatched 2 for the first time since the cinema, can anyone explain the end where Winston gives Wick a blood marker before Wick starts running? I forgot about that.

I think that was him giving John back Santino's (completed) marker in case he was going to attempt to tell his side of the story to the High Table. Which might come into play in #4.

A bit of a shameless self-plug here...but to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Matrix and the release of John Wick Chapter 3, I mashed up the two franchises into a retro 80s VHS Trailer for me and my buddy's Youtube channel. It's basically reimagining John Wick as an 80s action franchise, where the 6th installment goes all sci-fi post-robo-apocalypse. Felt appropriate with all the connections between the franchises and it was a blast to work on!

It's cool they're doing a TV series on The Continental, but I think a John Wick animated series would be bomb too.

Just got out of seeing this a while ago...I was in...but by the end i felt they jumped the shark. And Keanu was looking old to me in some of the action scenes.

Thanks all! And yup, the linked I posted is to the "Trailer Time Warp" playlist on my channel which has the other one I did for The Dark Knight's 10th anniversary last year. Link is also in my sig. Those two are the only current ones, but there will be more coming soon as I'm looking to make this an ongoing series. :yay:

This was so damn badass in every way, my friend

I felt that too.
the fight with Zero felt weak compared to the fight we just had with the two guys from The Raid

I saw it last night, and while I liked it, it still doesn't tack up to the first. The first one is soooo damn good. I wish they would keep these a bit more local, but they keep going all over the world, and I don't understand why they're spending all this time traversing the planet, when I rather have a tighter story. But whatever....

I still enjoyed it, though. I still think it's a solid franchise, and I can't wait for the 4th. I'll be in the theater to watch it. Bring 'em on.
