The Dark Knight Joker's Ending Scene

I like the sound of Joker's last scene, but I wish
they wouldn't have killed off Two-Face after only half an hour, I would have liked him as the main villain in a third movie, or at least the option left open.

I agree at this point, but I will have to see how it plays out.

Since Two Face is out of the picture, I really like the idea of introducing some new villains to the screen, and possibly using the Joker as some sort of overarching force working from inside Arkham.

Now idea how they would do that though  :csad:

But he's not a villain in Nolan's world.

I was really hoping Joker would die in this movie and Two-Face would be left alive for the 3rd. Have Joker go away in some grand death sequence. Someone jokingly said that he blows himself up. In the right circumstances, that would of been a cool death for him I think.

Of course I know he doesn't die tho. I also read that he is left for the police. Kinda sounds lame. Doesn't he escape from the police earlier in the movie? But reading a lot of spoilers, much of it sounds kinda lame. Like some scene where there are 2 boats, one of prisons and one of citizens. I won't go further so I don't spoiler it but that whole scene sounded really stupid. Hopefully the person is wrong about that scene or it works a lot better on screen...

You know what's REALLY lame? Your lack of taste.

Have him working through someone like Dr. Quinzel. It would obviously require a recast though, which I'm really not in favor of at all.

How is this a blatant joke from 89? If I remember correctly, Batman and Joker's first confrontation ended the same way in Batman #1. Joker was about to fall to his death, but Batman pulled him up saying "No, your too valuable a prize like anyone else." He was following his oath and mission as Batman. He doesn't kill, so he saved the Joker.

In 89 Batman KILLS the Joker making him plunge to his death.

Huge difference.

I think that it's awesome they didn't kill him. It's what I was hoping for. i like your idea!! Even though it would suck to recast, which I think they won't do, I would hope they picked Daniel Day-Lewis. He is the only one who I think could pull it off.

I agree but I can see how it is somewhat similar

He didn't kill him but it was a "I won't kill you but I don't have to save you" moment. But this is completely different from either of those. Saving versus allowing to die. Hmmmm...

No because only fanboys have to connect everything.

BATMAN WEARS A SUIT!!! IT'S SPOOFING 89!!

Oh come on this obviously goes beyond that and they are making a meta-reference to the other film on purpose. Which is something I generally don't like at all in serious movies to begin with because it takes out outside of the world and saying to yourself "oh ... they're referencing this OTHER movie, okay, I'm IN a movie, watching it talk about another movie... hmm...back to this film now..."

So besides the fact that obvious references like the exact method of "near-death" and being left there strung up by his ankle are obviously copying (or mocking) '89, I really don't see the point of stirring the pot about like that.

What next, are the press going to be running around trying to get Tim Burtons opinion on this scene? And then when Nolan is done with the franchise, is Tim going to step back in with a 10 x bigger budget than he had in '89 and start spoofing Nolan-world?
