And if they are adapting the Fred VII CC battle mask look for the movie, I could see how that could be described as "Jason-like," so the scenario isn't completely implausible.

For me, anyway, the words "Jason-like" invoked images of the traditional battle mask. Unless I'm confusing the Fred VII/CC mask for something else?

"Jason-like" makes me think Fred VII because it's the battle mask where you can see CC's eyes. The Jason X mask is the most similar to it.

I see what you're saying now. I hope that isn't the case because the traditional battle mask is a lot more iconic and could serve the same purpose. I've never liked the Fred VII battle armor.

Maybe that's why they chose Gordon-Levitt. I can hear him doing a pretty good Starscream voice behind that thing.

And on a side note, has anyone else noticed that Cobra Commander's 'regular name', Rex is an in-joke of sorts? It's obviously a reference/shortening of Tyrannosaurus Rex which means 'Tyrant Lizard King', which is exactly what Cobra Commander is.

The black armor suits are horrible and Destro just looks completely off. If Snake Eyes has the mouth then his costume is completely fubar'd too. Cobra Commander may be all that saves this movie.

i could see the reasoning for the skullish looks. it might be for intimidation, but if they made such an effort to make snake eyes look the business, why not give CC the same treatment. Hopefully there will be a hood, and it will be chromed. we'll see
