7 heros are too many if you do a JLA movie first, 5 is enough imo.
I agree that 7 main heroes would be too much. 5 would be a good base with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern & Flash. Maybe Martian Manhunter could be worked into the plot and not start out as a JL member.

If that's true...

So now they can actually move on with it at some point without worrying about Nolan's blessing.

They don't need his anything. He has no ownership of any of this.

that settles that then. so he won't producing anymore bat films either?

You'd think he did the way people go on in the industry.

Nolan doesn't want to piddle away his career making superhero movies. He's got his own ideas, and he's made his money, and his name.

I respect Nolan's decision. He wants to move away from the superhero genre, and I don't blame him. I know several out there will find this news disappointing but Nolan gave the Batman franchise his attention and dedication for nearly a decade.

Personally, I want Nolan to dive right back into the Sci-Fi genre.

That article also makes it seem that he won't be producing the next Batman series either. Looks like Robinov's plan fell through as he told hero complex last year that both Emma and Chris were on board as producers.

His original stuff is really good so for him to be stuck in this net of superhero movies would be sort of a shame.

Good on him.

Nolan's gonna go back to doing movies like Memento with bigger budgets and higher paid actors I think. Gonna get back into strictly Oscar bait I'm betting. You don't do Memento and Insomnia because you have no Oscar aspirations. He definitely wants a best Director, and that's probably not going to happen due to a summer blockbuster.

He did Memento because he liked his brother's story. He did Insomnia so he could do Inception, but he put it on the back burner.

More like Robinov was just plain talking outta his ass. Again.

Lest we forget that August 2008 Wall-Street Journal interview with promises of big announcements for future DC movies? Save for Green Lantern and the Superman "revival" film (The Dark Knight Rises, then Batman 3, doesn't count since we all knew that was coming... eventually), nothing transpired. Just hot air in the moment.

Its just not Kosher to public badmouthing. But seeing Nolan make these recent statements 100% contradicting Robinov is the closest you'll ever see from him. In his Nolany way, he appears to be washing his hands of not just Batman once his trilogy wraps but truthfully his working relationship with the studio (Besides his responsibilities on The Man of Steel which entailed him assembling the team, key actors and making sure the narrative never faltered and then letting the Superman team do their thing...)

Truth is Nolan was tight with Alan Horn (Ditto Thomas Tull). Not so much Robinov.

That's what I thought, and it's really unfortunate.

No Christopher Nolan changes everything for the DC/WB films. They've lost the one thing they had going for them.

Looks like this forum was a bit premature.

That's the problem right there. As a major studio you can't use one guy as your crutch. They should have like 3 or 4 visionary directors/producers in their stable right now talking about what they're going to do with the DC-verse in a round.

The article I read simply said that Nolan's batman wasn't going to be involved in a JL movie. I think we're taking this too far

He may be washing his hands of Justice League and future Batman productions... But that doesn't mean he's done with Warner Bros.

Why? It's exactly as far along as it was when the forum was created.

Nowhere? *zing!*

Honestly, I don't think this changes much, because I always figured Nolan's "involvement" in any JLA movie would be titular at best. The only difference is, WB won't be able to use his name in the marketing, if it happens anytime soon.

via cbm,

According to our source part of WB's plan is to use Man Of Steel and drop hints that Superman is in a shared universe with his DC counterparts. The hints will be very subtle such as character mentions. The one character that DC is really wanting to reference is Wonder Woman.
