Well, there ya go.

Hmm... oh well.

I honestly don't know who would be a good fit to direct this beast. I know people like to say David Yates but I always considered him very mediocre.

James Cameron could be fun in a pipe dream kind of way.

David Yates is a yes man. He shouldn't be considered a good fit for a project that important.

Takashi Miike should direct the JLA movie ^^

Read the entire article on Deadline...

Just because the studio wants Affleck doesn’t mean he will do the movie, and several sources tell me he might take a meeting, but that’s it.

If I had to guess I say he'll turn it down but you never know. He has knocked back a number of movies from WB and he may finally be inclined to say yes...especially if WB sweetens the package.

Just like WB gave Nolan Carte Blanc to make Inception, they may do the same with Affleck.

Ben Afleck could agree to produce a JL movie or he could reject the JL project but agree to direct a Batman movie.

I think he would be a fabulous choice for Batman. I also think he would surpise anyone who thinks that Nolan's Batman cannot be topped.

As much as I love Nolan's Battrilogy, by no means is it the pinnacle of the possibilities for Batman on film.

I think his visual style is too similar to Nolan's, and he lacks the subtextual talent that Nolan has.

Its true that he has a similar visual style, but like it or not that may be exactly the reason why WB offers him Batman.

I think that Affleck would probably produce leaner, tighter movies with less gaping holes of logic in them than Nolan.

The Justice League, directed by James Cameron. It's the exact same plot as The Avengers, but there's more CGI and 3D so nobody notices. It proceeds to make $4B at the box office. :oldrazz:

LOL. It's the Avengers only with hamfisted acting and themes.

Well if Ben Affleck isn't available, then how about Matt Damon? LOL

I will say though that I do agree with WB/DC's apparent stance that the lineup should consist of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern. Any more than that will probably be difficult for audiences to grasp without first being introduced to the characters.

Yes, but without the emotional reasonace and meaning that makes Nolan's movies so great.

Brad Bird would be suitable for this project me thinks!

I agree and its for that reason there is really only one choice:

Guillermo Del Toro

Watch Pan's Labyrinth and tell me its not so.

Exactly... they're awesome but IMO they still can't touch The Animated Series.

I'm still hoping for Frank Darabont for JL. He'll know how to handle multiple characters and not make JL goofy like the Avengers but still bring the fun.

Whatever happened to Wolfgang Peterson?

****, that sounds like some horrible children's novel title.

Anything could happen.

Im tired of people saying actors like Gosling and Hamm wont have anything to do with a project like that, anything is possible, the movie industry is so rich and powerful that anything could happen. Sooo much money is involved in that industry. Billions. Thats a lot of influence

This is true. What fans often forget is that this is the movie buisness . Its full of talk of, " I won't do this again" or " I wouldn't do x, y, or z". Alot of that is posing to maintain an image or frankly for more money. These actors, directors , and producers aren't like Politicans taking firm political stances . The industry is all about wheeling and dealing , and to think it isn't, is a bit naive.

True there are some actors who will pass on a project no matter what is offered, but then again we've had alot of "Well Respected Actors" such as Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Sir Ian Mackellan, Patrick Stewart, Tobey Maguire, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, etc involved in these type of projects in one way or another so its not like its impossible to get actors like Goshling or Hamm to suit up as it were.

Affleck would have been very good, I think. I hope they are aiming just as high (if not higher) in their directorial choices.
