So Kong: Skull Island is a surprisingly fun movie. Don’t expect a masterpiece, but it’s quite entertaining. (2.5/4) #KongIsKingLB.

KONG: SKULL ISLAND is one gnarly monster movie, and I mean that in the best way possible. Visually impressive and a thrilling adventure.

John C. Reilly runs away with KONG: SKULL ISLAND. Don’t let trailers make you think he’s a walking punchline. His character is fantastic.

I bet Reilly's character is awesome and more complex. You can tell that from the last trailer where the skull crawler joke is extended and it's rather sinister than jokey.

I can't wait for tonight. 7pm cannot come soon enough. I'm doing my best to keep my expectations in check.

Haven't seen the last trailer or the more recent TV Spots but yeah, there's more to the guy than meets the eye. Anyway, I don't care about the characters. Just gimme awesome Monster action and I'll fap to it. :D :D

I hope it gets a good opening week.

WB are doing an absurd No. of early screening for this one. They are desperate to get good word about the movie out on the street.

The last 2 trailers (haven't seen 'em) focused more on the humor to pull in the younger audience. I don't know, that probably did get young folks hyped.

The twitter and Facebook trailer views have certainly picked up some much needed pace.

Kong: Skull Island might just clear 55 m OW. That will be very good result.

I'm rooting for the movie. I just wanna have some pure fun with scary monsters and it looks like it's just that. So, I'm Aces. :D :D

Well, it puts me at ease that John C. Reilly's character isn't just there for comedic effect.

Dude has some chops if the material is there and he wants to use them. I have no problem with him being in the film if he's not just there to promote laughter. I'm more than happy to welcome his character to the story if he's an important component.

Oh, I love John C. Reilly as an actor, don't get me wrong. I was more concerned with the writing for his character.

Exactly. He was my biggest concern after the last two trailers. Only about 5 or so hours left before I sit down to watch it. I hope I'm proven wrong.

I'm trying to keep my expectations in check as well, but it's hard when you are hearing so many good things about this movie. Anyways, I'm pumped to see this tonight and just to be on the safe side I probably need to leave as early as possible to make sure I get in. Atleast, three hours in advance.

Have fun, m8. :) :)

Would 55m OW be a good result? It is going to get crushed its second weekend. Won't help the multiplier and it is released in early March. The weekdays will be poor.

Considering how so-so the marketing has been I think 55mil would be pretty good. I'm predicting 45mil myself.

Yeah, for the lack of buzz there seems to be, it would be good. But absent that, Godzilla opened to 93m.

Damn Godzilla had a monster opening. Imagine how much it would have made in total if people had actually liked it?

I do think Skull Island really should be opening with no less than 75mil. I just don't think that WB were able to find a good angle and got overshadowed by the other March films.
