So it looks like the YT critics overall weren't too big on it which sucks to hear, but it is getting great reviews from professional critics which is very interesting to see. I guess the characters/humor will be divisive for some.

Its kinda weird. Normally im more in line with the YT critics...so seeing them rail on Kong, while normal critics are praising it is kooky.

Are the post-credits scene, all the way at the end of the credits or after the main actors credits come up like some movies?

Some interesting new shots.

Yeah if you haven't seen the movie yet I wouldn't watch it.

Having seen it that trailer actually gives away a lot of cool shots from the film, atleast the one's they've tried to keep under wraps. Honestly, I know Warner Bros is trying their best to get people in seats, but the marketing for this movie has been pretty messy overall.

They're really pushing that last minute marketing as hard as they can. At this point I think it'll be lucky to take the #1 spot away from Logan this weekend, though I hope it does.

Releasing this movie between Logan and TBTB has proved to be disastrous.

It is sandwiched between two heavy hitters.

In the end, as long as it cleans up ok with both domestic and international numbers I'll be happy. As we've said in this thread many times, a solo Kong sequel isn't anything to be worried about us not getting, because that was never the plan. It's the mighty matchup versus the big G what we need to happen.

Yeah, I think it's likely Logan will beat it this weekend. Which is a shame. I mean great for Logan but this looks to be a movie that doesn't deserve this.

I am hoping they can both make a boat load with Kong being slightly on top. Logan derserves all the money it gets but I want this new Kong to be good also.

I haven't seen the film, so my opinion is not fully informed on the movie's quality. However, based on the trailers, the film seems very similar to other blockbuster pictures. Logan takes genuine risk in its material, and arguably, redefines what can be done with the genre. I like it when artistic risk is rewarded, especially in an industry that generally pursues safe projects. So, if this is going to be beaten by Logan, I think the effects of that will be much more rewarding to audiences down the line (studios will be willing to take greater risk in approaching their projects). Whereas, if Kong leads in the box office, it'll just mean "business as usual" for the Hollywood industry as a whole. Logan obviously won't re-shape the Hollywood industry by leading two weeks in a row, but it would mean yet another "win" for big budget, risk-filled, major studio productions. I feel like that is very important since in the last two decades, we've been moving further away from that model.

Just trying to put this all into greater context within the industry.

Man looking at the image of that figure, I was REALLY hoping Neca would've gotten the license for the film. I would love a Kong figure and a Skull Crawler figure as well. An interesting thing about the Skull Crawlers btw, is after picking up the new version of the original KK on blu, their design is an homage to the two-legged lizard from the original. It had been so long since I had watched it that I didn't even realize that.

Likewise but I know Prime1 studios will be making a high end Kong statue.
