Trailer trolling? I wasn't around so I'm not sure what happened.

I understand being skeptical, but rest assured, great things coming in less than 2 weeks.

Well, you're lucky you weren't around because those were 2-3 days that will live in infamy.

Bruce Dern Calls It A “Geezer’s Dinner”, But Oscar Nominees Show Up In Force At AARP’s Movies For Grownups Awards
PETE HAMMOND said:
Also among those cheering Philomena on was its composer Alexandre Desplat, Oscar-nominated for his score. Desplat is getting raves for his latest work on Wes Steve McQueenAnderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel which just had its World Premiere in Berlin. “But I probably can’t get an Oscar nomination for it because it is coming out in March. People don’t remember movies from March, ” he said. I bet they’ll remember this one. He also said he is three weeks away from recording the score for Godzilla which opens in May.

Meet Alexandre Desplat, Hollywood’s Master Composer
Andrew Romano said:
After The Grand Budapest Hotel, Desplat will change course yet again, upping the wattage for Warner Bros.’ $160 million Godzilla reboot. He’s currently in the middle of writing the score. At first, Desplat "wasn't sure" about the Godzilla gig. "The monster movies, I’ve never been really into that," he admits. “But when I saw Gareth Edwards’s first film, Monsters, I was hooked. It was very character-driven. So yes, Godzilla is another story than Philomena, because it’s nonstop fortissimo, with lots of brass, Japanese drums, and electric violin. But I still try to find the soul the film.”

Have no clue what you just posted.

:p

May as in the month of May when this movie is going to be released. It cannot come soon enough for me! I have been dipping into my extensive catalogue of Toho movies in preparation for this movie.

Anyways, don't know if anyone has posted this but I was sent this image link by a friend which may or may not be the look of Godzilla in this movie:

I meant that Photobucket image that's now gone. And yes, that image has been around since July. :p:D

I wonder why they'd go for the cobra look near his face when he's a dinosaur, not a snake....

Some details on Bandai's Godzilla 2014's toy line reveal at Toy Fair.
  • Three items were on display but seemed still in the prototype stages as most were grey in color. The three items were:
    Godzilla Chibis
Godzilla Destruction Pack with Winged MUTO Monster - Includes: 1 figure, 1 destructible building, 1 military aircraft
Godzilla Deluxe Attack and Roar Figure - With collector level detailing this large scale figure brings Godzilla to life as he blasts his powerful atomic breath and lets out his iconic trademarked roar.
  • Thorsten initially describes the Destruction Pack as having "a little fat dino..but it looks like there is Mothra in the movie too." Actually his initial statement was "Terrible." He used the phrase "cheap plastic" many times.
  • Viewed were some bridges, skyscrapers and houses "with parts to destroy".
  • The "Winged MUTO Monster is described as having two legs and wings. Looks a bit like a moth. The head in particular was somewhere between a moth and a fly in appearance. The creature had claws like the classic Godzilla monster Gigan (meaning hooks).
  • Thorsten could not give much more detail as the monster pieces were very small, in the 3 to 3.5 inch range. (Estimated)
  • Compared to this small size, I suppose the Deluxe Attack and Roar Godzilla WOULD come off as "large scale". We are told this figure is 7 inches tops, but definitely no bigger.
  • Deluxe Godzilla's action feature is a blue flame effect that pops out of his mouth and lights up. This figure also roars. I asked if it made the classic sound to see if they just had a place holder sound effect in the toy and was told this was the new roar. As we were also not allowed any recording devices, we can't even play that for you.
So...The Mutos are like a combination of Gigan and Kamacuras? :hmm

I had heard that there will be a second monster. Anyone know anything about this monster at all. The only news I could gather is that it is a purely original creation.

I've been hearing there's 2 new monsters.

And from the trailers, while they do seem to be using that model as the basis for Godzilla, it does look like it has been tweaked. The toy leaks I've seen doesn't look like it will have the cobra neck.

Well, there's two monsters. Referred to as the Mutos. They're insectoid like creatures, one male and one female.

Whatever they're called they look terrifying. Kind of like giant versions of the Star Wars Ep II gladiator spider thing

Yeah it was in the Comic Con footage. Unless that's another monster entirely. Haven't been keeping up with all the rumors

Your descriptions definitely matches the descriptions I've seen coming out of the toy fair.
