My mind is still racing a mile a minute, so I can barely even think straight. I cannot wait to see this again. I figure I'll just make a list of things I liked and didn't like, and if anyone cares for my opinion, I can just go more in depth on anything. LOL
Things that I adored:
- Everything Hathaway
- Everything Redmayne
- Everything Tveit
- ONE DAY MOOOOOOOORE
- Castle on a Cloud, normally a song I don't care fore, brought me to TEARS!
- Suddenly was a welcome addition. I can't wait to hear legit theater stars belting this out in concerts, etc.
- In terms of acting, there isn't a single weak link.
- I know I already said Everything Redmayne, but I simply must put emphasis on Empty Chairs.. !!!!!!!
- All of the changes in lyrics/song placement work. Not one complaint from me as far as that is concerned. There's a lot of snips and trims, but all minor cuts.
Things I didn't like (minor criticisms):
- Some of the CGI is pretty meh. There's a few scenes where its obvious that the actors are just standing in a green screen room. Unfortunate, but it's no big problem.
- Vocally, every actor holds their own except for Seyfried. Her shaky thin vibrato is such a disappointment, but she sings so little, and you notice it less when watching the film then you do in the clips that have been posted.
-Russel Crowes voice is hit and miss, but mostly hit. There's only a few instances where I want to cover my ears, but for the most part I was pleasantly surprised. His Stars is beautiful.
- Jackman has the same problem, but like Crowe, it's mostly hit. There's only very minor moments when it becomes obvious that Hugh's voice isn't big enough for the music. Prime example being Bring Him Home. But that number aside, he's tremendous.
