Going to a screening tonight. Hope I get in.

Not very impressed with the cinematography. Otherwise, I liked it a lot. And I had a moment when Enjolras kissed the woman's hand because yeah. :oldrazz:

I personally think the cinematography was great, I've always liked stuff like that. But to each his own. The woman he kissed was Mother Hucheloup, the owner of the Café Musain, who I'm really surprised made it into the movie.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see Sister Baptistine and Madame Magloire in the Bishop's scene. Crazy attention to detail.

Saw it tonight. It's unbelievable. Need to compose my thoughts, and I'll get back to you all.

I'm just so glad and relieved Samantha Barks is the one chosen to play Eponine instead of Taylor Swift.

No offence to Taylor Swift or her fans, Samantha Barks just fits the role so much better.

Yeah, it's beautiful. The cinematography opted for a more naturalistic look oppose to a highly stylized palate. Both styles could have worked, depending on what the director wanted out of it.

My mind is still racing a mile a minute, so I can barely even think straight. I cannot wait to see this again. I figure I'll just make a list of things I liked and didn't like, and if anyone cares for my opinion, I can just go more in depth on anything. LOL

Things that I adored:

- Everything Hathaway
- Everything Redmayne
- Everything Tveit
- ONE DAY MOOOOOOOORE
- Castle on a Cloud, normally a song I don't care fore, brought me to TEARS!
- Suddenly was a welcome addition. I can't wait to hear legit theater stars belting this out in concerts, etc.
- In terms of acting, there isn't a single weak link.
- I know I already said Everything Redmayne, but I simply must put emphasis on Empty Chairs.. !!!!!!!
- All of the changes in lyrics/song placement work. Not one complaint from me as far as that is concerned. There's a lot of snips and trims, but all minor cuts.

Things I didn't like (minor criticisms):

- Some of the CGI is pretty meh. There's a few scenes where its obvious that the actors are just standing in a green screen room. Unfortunate, but it's no big problem.
- Vocally, every actor holds their own except for Seyfried. Her shaky thin vibrato is such a disappointment, but she sings so little, and you notice it less when watching the film then you do in the clips that have been posted.
-Russel Crowes voice is hit and miss, but mostly hit. There's only a few instances where I want to cover my ears, but for the most part I was pleasantly surprised. His Stars is beautiful.
- Jackman has the same problem, but like Crowe, it's mostly hit. There's only very minor moments when it becomes obvious that Hugh's voice isn't big enough for the music. Prime example being Bring Him Home. But that number aside, he's tremendous.

Probably gonna be making that Chicago money.

Good. That's one of my favorite musical moments in the show. It's just so poetically clever

Did everyone else in your audience like it? Could you gauge the general reaction?

There were claps and tears and laughs. :)
