Let's Discuss Dan Slott's New Book

Heh, I got it. Pete's facial hair is similiar to a spider's leg hairs and it's like organic velcro.

How about that?

oh, haha, I rememeber now. Slott I think specificly wrote that because of that nonsense at the begining of New Avengers
Indeed. Plus, it IS a drinking game over in Ultimate Spider-Man. You can hardly find arcs where the main villian either doesn't know his identity or doesn't unmask him. Sheesh.

Speaking of Yellowjacket now, think Slott will make hay of the BEYOND! revalation that Pym & Firebird may be an item? Or at least a "rebound" fling for the ol' Giant-Man?

Slott will definately use the Hank/Firebird thing. Or at least acknowledge it.

Hopefully.

I'm not big on War Machine, but I know some fans are. Is he bald now, too? I mean most black guys at Marvel tend to be going with the bald look now. ;)

LOL!

Probaly, I can't tell Luke apart from Patriot by the way some artists draw them.

SUPER SAM!!!!!!!

Fixed that for you.

So far the only thing seperating Gauntlet and Luke Cage is facial hair for the former. I mean they both even wear t-shirts!

I mean some variety would be nice, I mean imagine of all of a sudden every white male hero was a blond. True, some artists made Steve Rogers, Hank Pym and Clint Barton look like triplets, but you know what I mean. It's like hardly anyone can draw something beyond dreads, 'fro's, or baldness for black male heroes. I'm not even black and it's looking repetitive for me. :p

Nitpicking aside, I'll give Gauntlet a chance. Slott usually makes cool characters.

Oh the day when a nice 'temp fade' appears on a black heroes noggin.

It's back!!!

The only reason I'm so set on this subject is because aside from being former military I'm a barber.

maybe it's a bit hard to draw that. or they think the whole bald thing is bad-ass.

Not this again!:(
Fine, fine, I'll drop it. Bald black guys are awesome. Keep giving us a 100 of then, Marvel. Hell, why hasn't Robbie Robertson shaved his head yet? Get with the program. A fad's not a fad unless you guys TOTALLY sell out.

It's not a big deal anyway. Like I said, Gauntlet may be connected to Southpaw and that could be interesting, like who made these giant gauntlets? Could it be based on the same "Dr. Stein" tech from The Pride that Pusher Man had? And what brings a newcomer to the stage in this rocky period in the MU?

Honestly, though, Justice is the cast member so far I am the most jazzed about seeing, if only because this may give him a fresh start for 2007.

Former already? Didn't you leave, like, a couple of weeks ago?

Slott also is a writer who isn't afraid of having actual supervillians in a story, which I am also looking forward too. ;)

Don't be so touchy, Dread! I just didn't want it to be another 2-3 page debate that would be a re-hash of what's already been said. I never said you had to like the baldies. I never even said what you had to prefer. Jeeez!:D

I've seen you mention the Southpaw thing (really selling it hard, Dread!:o) and each time I'm reminded of something I noticed in the sketches. There's a circular joint where the elbow should be. It mostly looks like it's a mechanical arm and not a Gauntlet per se.

I'm done buddy I was already getting medically retired until they put a hold on it and sent my ass to Kuwait (Which was all for nothing, since all I did was sit on my ass and kept track of inventory and handed out supplies.)

Hey why not if it leads to something awesome Dan Slott goodness.

Oh, ok, I didn't know. Sorry it turned out like that, man!:(

Even if it doesn't deal with Southpaw, I'm sure it'll be awesome Dan Slott goodness.:D:up:

Oh, please, like other fans haven't oversold some idea to death. Just check out the Champions thread. :p I don't even read SHE-HULK where Southpaw showed up, I just figured linking together people who have a silly contraption on their arm makes some sort of sense, unless you want to claim that different people make these things. Kind of like how "body armor" is a dime a dozen and anyone from Rampage to Facade to Bloodshed and a million in-between has body armor. I could almost picture Spider-Man going on TV and going, "Please, kids, just say NO to armor". ;) It's not a huge deal, just saying that a connection could be cool. Y'know, like how in Armor Wars Stark found out that his tech was being stolen and sold all over and all that. I just saw a simularity and thought, "well, it might be cool if there is a connection, considering Slott's a fan of having things connect and it is his characters." We'll see.

Hopefully Gauntlet manages to avoid the cliches of characters empowered by such devices and strike out on his own.

Anyone think Justice will get a redesign?
