If the rumors do materialize into truth, then I will probably pass on the film. I do not care for Lex Luthor to begin with - I only liked him as the figurehead of the Injustice Society-but, I would prefer Bryan Cranston not enter the DC film universe. His casting would almost be a near-guarantee that I would not see the film.

It's the funny posts that get me through the day.

Happy to provide some amusement. I have found it is fun to shut down the Apollonian half of my brain and go with whatever thoughts emanate from the Dionysian. :hehe:

I just saw last night's episode of Breaking Bad.

Jesus. Christ.

I won't spoil it, but Walt's lies and manipulation of those around him to further his goals...his selfishness. Wow. He'll do literally anything to preserve himself.

I can totally see him as Lex and fooling Metropolis into thinking he's some kind of charming philanthropist and humanitarian all while making every minute of it feel real.

I wouldn't even be mad at the casting, age aside.

Yeah, right. :cwink: Literally everyone on this forum is going to see the movie.

Yeah, people aren't going to see the movie if Cranston is cast, just like they swore that they wouldn't see TDK when Ledger was cast, please.

Bryan Cranston for Luthor and Aaron Paul for Joker.

Yeah, the age is the only thing holding me back a little bit but I mean... the guy is just such an incredible talent that I'd be pumped if Cranston was announced.

I still have yet to see that show, but I'm willing to believe in its quality. The guy really does look old, though; I would say closer to 70. Some people just have bad luck.

You're missing out on one of the great shows of our time my friend.

Closer to 70? Not at all. He looks his age most of the time, other times a few years younger.

Yeah, I don't think he looks close to 70 at all. He tends to look a bit younger with a bald head too, for whatever reason.

All the Cranston haters sound so dumb. This movie would be lucky to be able to get Cranston. **** the haters, he's perfect for Lex. And one of the greatest actors of all time.

Tucci is a good actor, but Luthor needs to have a really powerful edge to him. He has to be at least somewhat of a badass. I don't know that Tucci could pull that off.

I'll catch up with it. I never watch TV when it airs, apart from news and sport, so I tend to get given a wall of DVD box sets every Christmas or birthday. I still have Broadwalk Empire unopened.

So one of the greatest actors enters a project and you wont see it? That doesn't sound realistic lol.

-Cranston is OLD. Lex has never been portrayed that old in the comics. Just doesn't fit in with the relative young cast they already have signed on.

-Cranston isn't a box office draw either. Total Recall flopped...one of the first times he had a leading role(as the villian) and no one watched it. He wasn't all that memorable in it either.

-The rational that he should play Lex because he plays a similar character on BB is incredibly dumb. That just scream predictable fancasting. I'd rather someone that will bring something fresh/original to the role...you know surprise the audience instead of giving them what they think they want.

Not really comparable. Ledger's casting seemed to bring a lot of haters. Cranston, on the other hand, seems to be the popular choice for Luthor.

Also, Ledger was coming off of a Oscar nomination and was a legit movie star while Cranston is a tv actor.

I don't know, this seems like a step down for Cranston. Not that he can't be great at pretty much whatever you throw at him...comedy...drama...I just don't get why he wants to do this.
