BvS Lex Luthor Casting Thread - Part 5

I won't mind Cranston being cast, but he's never been one of my fan choices. Why can't someone start a Michael C. Hall rumor?!!

cranston is one of the greatest actors of our time, so i have no complaints, still would rather wait and see when it's confirmed.

This rumor won't go away until either Cranston or warner brothers finally announces who there lex luthor will be. I wont be disappointed if he is cast in this film.

If he's I wont complain because I've seen breaking bad. But idk somethimg inside me wants a different lex. Probably because Cranston is so much older than I envision as lex.

From what I hear, it's all but officially announced. Again, I'm not an insider, but I've closed my Lex Luthor speculation book with plans of not opening it again.

one unsourced rumor from and obscure website does not make me think anything other than this guy is begging for hits for his website

You got to take it with a grain of salt and try not to be too involved in how you react to certain rumors. I'm seatbelted in and going along for the ride but I won't allow myself to latch on emotionally to a rumor like Phenoix because there's a ton going on behind the scenes that will never, ever make it out to the public and most rumors are falsities so I'll allow myself to entertain the idea but never fully trust in a rumor for the sake of being let down.

I know, it's just very hard not to. When you got an actor like Phoenix. You can just envision his Lex against Bats and Supes. Oh the comic movie magic...

Not at all- I trust the people who are saying it, but I guess we won't know until we know.

Ditto. For me it's-

PhoenLex
Denzel
Daniel Craig

I would not mind Cranston AT ALL. If Phoenix were to get cast, he most likely wouldn't be the physical Lex many fans have in mind. If that is the case, I think Cranston plays intimidating, stubborn, cold-blooded, established businessman a little better while Phoenix plays the psychotic/slimey/bratty (think Gladiator) roles well. This may sound controversial, but I would buy Cranston throwing a punch quicker than I would Phoenix...plus he wears a suit and baldy better.

Cranston is Luthor. Don't know when it will get confirmed, but I'd bet money on it.

Why? Well, he's been continually rumored for the role, and people like the idea. He's popular following Breaking Bad. I don't think he'd be a hard actor to get (like Pheonix). He's got great villain presence. And when he was asked about the rumor, he rather cleverly did not deny it but dodged the question with "well people just think that because I'm bald, but they can hire any actor and put a bald cap on him!" That's not a denial, its simply a statement that WB can hire anyone. They can, but they've hired him.

The only potential roadblock here would be if Cranston doesn't want to appear in multiple films, which Lex would almost certainly be required to do.

If Cranston is cast, he could become a really huge star after this movie. Then again, same would go if he were to be Jim Gordon(which would be more fitting IMO).

Pretty much my list as well. I also dig the idea of Daniel Craig as Lex.

Cranston would be another top choice for the role for sure

Regarding Cranston, can we believe him wearing this suit?

He'd be channeling Walter White too much I think. I see where you're coming from though.
Joaquin all the way.

If Cranston is in this, it would be interesting seeing him going up against Affleck. As i always pictured him as Gordon, aiding the Batfleck, like he did in Argo. Either way i want him to be a part of this with Ben.

The only thing that would make me OK with Phoenix not getting the role is if Cranston or McConaughey took the job.

As for the suit, who says that's the direction they're taking Lex into??

I'd rather suit Luthor to be either scrapped, or reduced in size to something more feasible. For instance,
